"Wow!" Was the breathless remark that that Tallulah spoke looking at her date for the night. That woman was gorgeous. Stunning in every possible way. Her eyes sparkled at the couples upon the dance floor. Tallulah knew how to take this and run away with it... She held out a hand and bowed, a smirk on her face. A cheesy dance to shatter the ice. Worth it. It was a slow dance, but, one that had a genuine smile. Her date smiled. She laughed when she was spun around. It was the closest thing to perfect that Tallulah had ever experienced.
As the night grew old, the young were no longer out. Everything was closing... She was still there dancing as the chairs and tables were being stacked. The floor being cleaned preparing for the next day. The world had simply faded away the moment their lips had touched. A spark right then and there. A staff member came and broke the dreamless state by telling them it was time to leave. "What do you say we start our second date now... With coffee?" Tallulah proposed.
Marah was entranced by this woman who just took over everything. She had never felt like that before. It had been a rough month for her. A month before her brother finally forced her out on a blind date after an incident that scarred her for life. This night was terrifying. To once again to go out and conquer the night that made her shake in fear in the young hours was not an experience she enjoyed. But, this dance... The enchanting kiss. Marah needed this night, needed it much.
Tallulah was a gentleman. What is a better word? Marah couldn't think of one. She was classy. She opened the door to the late night coffee shop. Inside Marah's stomach growled staring at the early morning breakfast foods. The realization had hit her that she did not even eat a single drop of food that night... That day, or was it tomorrow? "And two house breakfast burritos." She heard her date speak while she was lost staring at food. Food. Her date understood that.
The man behind the counter smiled and handed over the two coffees in hot steaming cups. Tallulah moved to grab a small table by the window. Marah stood there frozen for a moment until she was broken out of her trance. The trance was broken by an arm wrapping around her and a soft kiss against her cheek. "Hot chocolate is my favorite..." Marah stated as she smelled chocolate overtaking the room.
"Why didn't you say so? I could get you one." Marah shook her head. She moved to the table and grabbed the coffee. Tallulah watched as her date took the cup to the lips, she watched how the lips moved. She knew this night was something else. She knew Marah was something else, as entrancing as she is. Her smile turned to an instant face of worry and concern.
The coffee dropped to the ground. "Oh, I'm sorry... Just lost my grip." She bent down to grab her cup and clean up the mess... But there was no way to do that when she fell unconscious at the sound of a scream from her date. She looked at the woman in the chair resting her head on the bed, leaning forward.
Feeling restful and weak Marah's eyes opened up. Her eyes fluttered at the bright room. She didn't recognize where she was. She looked around and there was someone in a very uncomfortable looking chair next to her. "Good afternoon. Are you hungry?" She heard an unfamiliar voice. The woman in the chair jerked awake. Marah's head turned to see a young man standing there. Marah slowly shook her head.
"Of course she's hungry." The voice... Of her date. Where were they? Marah looked over at her arms. There were tubes in them. How strange. She looked back at the man and his clothes. She was wondering why she was in a hospital... Why did her legs feel so heavy? Everything felt wrong. Her head was killing her. Her body was aching.
"Oh no!" Marah exclaimed and looked over at the date she had. "I ruined our date... I am so sorry! Please, let me make it up to you..." She looked over at the young man. "I want to see the doctor." Marah wanted control. She didn't like the feeling she was having. She needed the control back. Every bit of Iit. She hated being not in control of any situation.
"Are you kidding me?!" Tallulah straightened out her stiff back. She was wearing a different set of clothes then the dress she had on. Marah was wondering what she was missing. "You scared me! I've been here all weekend, even took today off of work..."
"Weekend... I thought you were going... Work?" Marah blinked. "What happened?" She didn't look at the young man who spoke something. She didn't even hear the young man leave the room and call out for someone. Tears streamed down her face... "I got to get out of here... Help me get out..."
"No. You're staying here, even if you hate me. I fell in love with you in five minutes, I cannot leave in good faith with you... Sick." She smiled. Tallulah reached up to the table with fresh flowers on it addressed from a person called dad. "I brought you some hot chocolate... Well, I guess it's cold chocolate now." Tallulah wiggled her nose and held the cup up for her.
"Miss Bloxam?" A man's voice asked. His voice sounded a great deal more mature than the young scrub boy just moments ago. "When is your birthday?" He asked. Tallulah straightened up her posture and stood up. Marah just looked at the man for a second. "That's a great friend you have there. You know she was here every waking moment, even refused to let the nurse remove her." He smiled looking at Tallulah.
"Tenth of January..." Marah spoke calmly looking at her date from seemingly a few nights ago. Tears rushing down her face again, "I've been here... Since Friday? Is it really... Monday?" She asked... Remembering Tallulah telling her about some big meeting she had on Monday and something about calling off work. "Nineteen sixty four." She completed her birthdate.
"I'm Doctor Winslow, Miss Bloxam." The man smiled and pulled a chair on wheels out and sat down. "Your vitals look strong," he turned his head to Tallulah. "I'm sorry ma'am. I must ask you to leave." Tallulah smiled, understanding.
"I'll go get you a fresh hot chocolate." She stated firmly and strongly and opened the door to the room to leave.
"Stay!" Marah cried out. The doctor looked at Marah and back at Tallulah. He nodded his head and gestured his hand for her to take a seat.
"Miss Bloxam. We tried everything we could to stabalize the fetus. We believe your child will survive, but, this will be a long and complicated pregnancy. Abortion is still an option. The State will pay due to the..." He flipped open the chart and looked at the paperwork.
Tallulah looked shocked. Fetus? Pregnancy? Who was this women she went out with? The women sai she hadn't been on a date in almost a year when they talked. But, pregnant? How could this happened. Tallulah was disappointed and yet couldn't help but to feel some resentment and worry.
"Rape. The choice is entirely up to you. I'm going to have the nurse bring you something to eat and some reading material to help you make a decision about abortion, adoption, or keeping the child. We're here to assist you in any way you wish. But, I must inform you that you have a hostile womb, it will be very difficult for you to ever have another child."
In that instant Tallulah felt bad for her thoughts. She felt as if the wind were knocked out of her. She gasped and sniffled, it was a hard thing she had to hear. Suddenly Marah looked so much stronger than her vulnerable self. How was she not breaking down to tears about being... Raped? Pregnant... With his child? She knew she had to stay, and at least be a friend. "You know what, sweetheart? How about I go let you and the doctor talk alone and get us some hot chocolate and real food instead of hospital food... Then, we can try that second date again."
It was surprising to her. How could she refuse? But, how could she also say yes? Marah just had her life turned upside down. Everything was upside down for her. She felt as if she were breaking down. The fibers of her world came apart a month previous. Just when everything seemed right for the first time, the first time she had smiled within a month; shatter. Everything in her world no longer made any sense.
Tallulah did leave. She did return with real food, but, she waited outside the glass door while Marah was sitting up in the hospital bed talking to Winslow. After a while the doctor rose his hand up and gave a gesture for Tallulah to enter again as he was leaving. "Anytime you need anything, call for me. You made a brave choice, Miss Bloxam."
"I'm sorry, Tallulah."
"Hmm?" Tallulah hummed her lips handing over a cooling hot chocolate that was probably still warm enough to drink and a bag with a breakfast burrito. Tallulah flashed her award winning smile at Marah. "When you get out of here, want to try another date? I thought the first one was pretty good. I don't need to know anything that's going on with you right now."
"Can we pretend today never happened?" It was a hard question. She revealed far too much. She glanced outside her room seeing a clock up on the wall, glaring four. There was never the amount of light at four in the morning. But, she was told good afternoon not long ago. "Wasn't your presentation at four?!" She quickly turned her head to Tallulah. "Go! Go! Go! Go!" She exclaimed. "Shoo! Go win that presentation!"
Letters were exchanged back and forth. It was a dream for both the women. How could they click together so much? It seemed as if it were such an impossible feat. There were such late nights where Tallulah stared over the written word trying to figure out what to write down as she felt her words were not worthy of Marah's heart. Marah's heart was somehow warm... After so much cold had happened to her.
Marah made the move. She regretted making the move the instant she wrote the dear letter to her beloved.

Wondrous Tallulah,
My dear, it has occurred to me it has been thirty-two days since we saw each other last. Would you like to meet once again? Of course, my treat.
Meet me at five at Nessie's Lab.
With affection,
Marah.

Tallulah had written a reply immediately upon receipt, without much of a concern for words. It was an impulse, pure impulse.

Marah.
See you at five. Bring dancing shoes.

It was a whirlwind for both women. They both rushed to dress up. Marah told her best friend she had a date. There was squeaking going on and a rush to buy a dress. For Tallulah it was wrecking through her wardrobe trying to find something she rarely wrote. Tallulah had arrived. Nessie's Lab was a new nightclub for the young and their friends. It had it's great moments it also had it's terrible moments.
There were few words spoken at first. As soon as Tallulah saw Marah she extended her hand and took Marah's larger hand in hers. Inside the club it was straight to the dance floor. They both knew there was no alcohol that night, but, neither said a word. It seemed to be an unspoken agreeance. The world was drifting away for the two as they got lost on the floor for a few solid hours.
Feet aching... A slow dance in the middle of a crowd of fast paced dancers just ended in a kiss... A kiss shared by both. The kiss was gentle. The kiss was passionate. The kiss was an achievement for both of the women. Marah's heart skipped a beat. Tallulah bit her lower lip.
The slow relationship between the two women built. It went from a month between dates to two days for the third, then just one for the fourth, five hours for the fifth and about a half a week for the sixth. The frequency picked up. Marah was clearly showing signs of being pregnant. The time had come for her to make a decision if she were to abort. She was advised if she were to give the child, the life created within her to adoption she should start looking at her ideal couples soon. But, she didn't understand or know what to do. Her mind kept going back to the awful night she barely remembered.
The night faded away, Marah feeling weak. Tallulah took notice of this and stopped the dance despite the protests to fetch food. She tried her best and suceeded. She had achieved an entire night without alcohol. Not a single drop of alcohol. The night faded into a coffee shop where Marah had a hot chocolate and Tallulah had her coffee. The two were splitting a cheesecake, one spoonful at a time.
Time has gone by. Weeks. Several weeks flew by with dates hidden between. Many were small meets at restaurants. But, finally after two and a half months from their second date Tallulah convinced Marah to come home with her. She cooked Marah a nice dinner. Marah arrived, ate, laughed and giggled. But, the night took an unexpected twist.
"I don't think I can keep this baby," she spoke laying her hand on her stomach. It was a fierce and hard decision. She stared down at her belly. "I don't want to birth the child, but, abortion... Means it's life will end. I don't want that... Maybe I should give it up. But, mine." Marah blinked, it was a hard decision. "I can't..." She broke down into tears. "I just can't decide what to do," she sobbed. "Nobody would want me if I have a kid."
"Did you know..." Tallulah spoke standing up and coming closer to sit on the couch next to Marah. "I've always wanted a child? I'm here for you. I've been in love with you since the moment I saw you." Tallulah gave her date a warm smile. "I would want you. I would be there for you, and your kid, Marah. She giggled and laughed. "I always thought if I had a girl, I'd name her Penelope."
"Really? Penelope?" Marah snorted and broke out into her fit of laughter.
"I love that you snort." She spoke back to him. Tallulah moved closer to her and wrapped an arm around her girlfriend. "I won't run away, if you decide you want to give this child a loving home." She spoke softly, rubbing her girlfriend's arms. There was always a wonder of what could be. Tallulah thought she was madly in love with Marah. She didn't want to fade away. Disappear.
"I'm going to Skagen, photography gig there. Would you like to come with me?" She asked. It was short notice. "It's in only a month." Very short notice. A month to go to another country? That was something else.
"Skagen?" Marah asked, having no clue where that is. "Sounds like Alaska or some place in Oregon." She laughed. Her snort was back.
Tallulah grinned and shook her head. "Destination wedding, dear. Skagen, Denmark. Want to go with me?"
"I don't even have a passport."
"I know somebody that can speed that up for you..." Tallulah smirked.
There was no arguing about that. In exactly three weeks and five days Marah found herself scrambling to pack and trying to find what clothes to take, that fit her for a cold climate. She was going to be spending her Christmas holidays with this woman she had been seeing over the past just over six months. They had met in the middle of May. But, now it was toward the end of November. Nearly an entire year was spent with this woman being there for her in her times of stress... Marah couldn't say no.
There was a twist on the lock. Tallulah walked in her apartment. Marah jumped up out of fright. She had forgotten she gave Tallulah a key a few dates ago when she wasn't feeling well and Tallulah insisted on coming over with hot chocolate and soup. "I'm guessing you're far from packed. I thought you could use some new clothes." She entered the room and laid down some beautiful blouses and pant sets on the bed. And one... A gorgeous red dress.
Before she knew it she had a few bags packed and Tallulah loaded up a carriage she had rented out. Marah just stood there for a while wondering why the heck Tallulah would go for that form of transportation when there were several other ways of traveling across the world perfectly safe and quick. But, no... This way was an extended form of torture.
Torture wasn't good. Not good at all. Marah rolled her eyes at the carriage. Tallulah just laughed. Her laugh was intoxicating. Marah just stared at Tallulah as she climbed into the carriage after putting away all the luggage she hand. "Your hand, my dear?" She asked.
Marah gave up her hand and was pulled inside the carriage that was suddenly a great deal more roomy than it looked on the outside. Magic tended to do things like that. It changed and forced some people's perspectives. Marah's perspective was forced. She loved her life in the city, but, Tallulah was out in the country and a much more traditional person and extremely open. It seemed like a strange mix. Marah, the city girl was raised to be strict and her ordeals were always strict. Tallulah, raised in a strict household, but was a free spirit and loved the outdoors.
The carriage lifted up the ground carefully. Marah looked outside the window in amazement as it lifted in the air. Flying on a broom was never her thing. Heights did funny things to people sometimes. She screamed out of delight and turned to Tallulah and shared a great fit of laughter with her. "Do you normally fly like this?!" She exclaimed.
Tallulah shook her head. "No. I usually just take a portkey or a network. Sometimes a portal. But, I thought going on my first vacation with you deserved to be extra special. We'd be in Denmark for a few weeks, so, why not go all out and enjoy it? Who knows when we'd see Europe next! Especially now that it's not a war torn hell."
The trip over was smooth sailing. Marah watched in amazement as cities and the country side just faded away under her. She watched as the water became dominant and the main feature was the skies that danced between shades of color at night. Orange. Pink. Red. Purple. Blue. Green. All the colors mixed into the sky. As night set, the night grew deeper, a cloudless night without a wink in the sky. But, the stars were interrupted by a burst of green light, ribbons of light dancing across the skies. Marah just stared at them in awe. She was awestruck. Tallulah wrapped an arm around her girlfriend and pulled a blanket up to enjoy the northern lights. "Beautiful, isn't it, Tally?"
"Indeed it is." It was a very beautiful sight. Marah was enjoying herself. The ride thus far had been fun. She had a mug of hot chocolate and a lid within arm's reach. There were some sandwiches. She was enjoying this. The ride over the ocean was long, but, it was relaxing hearing nothing but the sound of water crashing onto itself and a rare bird squawking in the sky. She could hear the breath of the woman she fell in love with.
Marah sunk down into the sofa. She was sore and aching, but, she was happy. A grin was written across her face. She pulled the blanket up higher. Tallulah saw this and just laid at her side. "Thank you... For bringing me."
"Shh. Get some rest." She spoke. It was a long ride, slower than planes, slower than any other method, but, it was their way... It was their romantic way. Marah fell down asleep rather quickly. Tallulah laid with her for a while, but, didn't sleep a wink. Tallulah couldn't sleep while traveling, not one bit. She was always so excited. But, she was always so exhausted at her destination.
Several hours later, Marah was stirring awake. They were over land once again, zooming across land rather quickly. Marah yawned and slowly sat up. She glanced out the window and noticed that they were slowing down just by staring for several moments. "Are we nearly there?" The logic said yes, if they were slowing down.
"Indeed. We did get you a coat, right?" Marah laughed and nodded her head just watching out the window as she yawned.
Skagen was gorgeous. The two did land. They didn't go to bed at first, despite how tired Tallulah was. They just walked around the village until Tallulah had a meeting with a man that gave her a set of keys to a small quaint cottage. They slipped into the cottage. Tallulah yawned, but, Marah was wide up and wanted to eat. That sounded like a fantastic idea to Tallulah. She knew it was important to let Marah eat. After all she was eating for two.
"Let's go feed Penelope and you!" She smirked, still suggesting the name. Tallulah sat down a bag and grabbed the keys. They headed out of the room into the cold. Penelope was kicking and all. Marah was quite happy about the fact she could be having a girl in a month and a half. Marah looked around the small town and was enjoying herself in the fairy tale scenery. She walked up and looked through a glass of a window. She heard a camera shutter and she turned around just smirking at the photographer she was dating. "Hey, you should really smile more, Marah. It's beautiful."
Marah couldn't help but to keep her smile and blush as the two enjoyed exploring the city out. The day disappeared rather fast. Tallulah's energy was clearly gone. So was Marah's. It was time for the two to return to their room, as Tallulah had an early start to get ready for her photography business the next day. The business wasn't, but, this wasn't a profitable deal as well. She took this because it was a dear friend getting married.
In the morning when Marah woke up she found breakfast on the table already. Tallulah was sitting there already dressed, gorgeous, hair up with pins. Marah just gave a stare. "Morning," she yawned. Tallulah smirked and turned her head around giving a wink. Tallulah quickly got up and grabbed a bagel.
"I got to go! I'm sorry! I'll be back tonight! Wedding is Christmas Eve. We can spend Christmas together. Deal?" Tallulah grinned and left some cash of the local currency on the bed. "Use this when you go shopping. No boats! I don't trust the boats in this area... I'll see you tonight, meet you for dinner at the shrimp place we stopped at by the shore?"
"Sure, Tally. See you tonight." Marah rolled back into bed closing her eyes to get more shut eye.
Marah stirred awake. She wasn't sure what time it was. But, Tallulah was sitting on the bed next to her, kissing her forehead. "Hey, love. I got off early. The group wants to do dinner at the restaurant uptown, would you like to go with me?"
Marah nodded his head. She was on board for this. "Let me get dressed..." She spoke making her way out of bed slowly.
"No rush. We have about an hour and a half before I need to be there." Tallulah grinned and snuck a kiss from Marah. Marah just giggled and made her way out of the bed to the bathroom to take a hot steamy shower. "Want me pick you out something for tonight?"
"Yes! Please! Otherwise I'd be there for the next hour trying to figure what to wear." Marah shouted back as water roared to life in the shower.
Tallulah rummaged through Marah's bags and unpacked them into the drawers. They were here for two weeks, might as well settle in. The destination wedding was also the honeymoon. The entire group would probably be there for at least a week. Most of the family for two weeks. Two weeks was a long time to spend in a foreign country. Tallulah was thrilled to spend this time with Marah, as she would probably be occupied most of the time starting in early February.
Marah came out of the shower with her hair in a towel and her body wrapped in another one. Tallulah stared, smirking. "Are you sure you don't want to come to the wedding tomorrow? The bride insisted that I bring you, she wants to meet you!"
"I'm sure..." She spoke looking at the outfit Tallulah had picked out staring at it. She liked the taste. She really did like the taste. "I like it." Marah slowly got dressed, struggling most with the pants. The shirt was the easy part. Tallulah was trying her best not to laugh. "I will kill you, you know?"
"Oh, I expect it dear."
Marah was ready to go. Tallulah grabbed her hand and led the way out through the town's quaint streets. It was so beautiful. The walk was slow, but, peaceful. Marah enjoyed her day sleeping in and now looking around the town. Tallulah just enjoyed having company and seeing everyone else from her childhood.
The restaurant was gorgeous. Marah was just stunned walking into the location. Her coat was taken. She was led to a large table with several faces she had never met before. Names were introducing themselves to her, talking about Tallulah and other times the bride and the groom. Marah enjoyed the stories of Tallulah's youth. They were quite entertaining.
The night raged on. Tallulah tried her best not to drink any wine. But, with Marah insisting she did. "Are you excited for the wedding tomorrow?" Marah asked the bride in her soft voice.
The groom laughed and interrupted, "I tried to run, but this woman hexed me down and slipped a love potion into the wine."
"Oh, is that what that taste is?" Tallulah smirked staring at Marah.
"Clever." Marah spoke, leaning forward and kissing Tallulah, for the first time in the prescence of other people. The table erupted in cheers of support. America wasn't the friendliest place yet for them, but, that group obviously was the friendliest place in the world that just supported the two.
"You two make a hot couple. If I weren't about to shack up with her, I'd be hitting your trees." The drunk groom stated.
"Thank you," Marah blushed.
"I'm sorry!" The bride punched the groom in the shoulder. "He's lucky I fell in love with him, otherwise he'd be out rubbing one off on his own wondering what a real woman, like us is like." The ladies at the table giggled. Marah did too. The men broke out in laughter. The groom took it. He was being roasted that night. Marah was enjoying herself.
As the night raged on, Tallulah was exhausted and fighting to stay awake. Marah spoke up, breaking the couple's silence. "I am feeling a bit sore, I'd like to go lay down now. Thank you all. It was an absolute pleasure meeting you all."
"You must come to our wedding tomorrow! My Aunt Muriel didn't make it, we have an extra seat!" The bride exclaimed.
"Perhaps. I'll see how the little one is feeling."
"What are you going to name him, or is it a her?" The groom asked, breaking his temporary silence.
"The doctor believes it's a girl. So..." Marah grinned and looked at Tallulah. "Penelope. Penelope sounds like a great name, my little Penny."
"I'll go back with you. I don't want you walking these streets alone." Tallulah smirked. It was a very safe city. There was no harm. But, it was dark and cold. Tallulah didn't want Marah getting lost.
"Sounds great to me, dear." Marah commented looking back at the bride and groom. She flashed them a large smile. "I'll see you two tomorrow. I apologize, I brought no gift. But, perhaps sometime on your honeymoon I can paint you a portrait, if I find the supplies."
"That sounds wonderful, Marah. Rest well." The bride jumped up out of her seat and made her way around the large table made of tables put together end on end. She gave Marah a tight hug and kissed her cheek. "Tallulah means a lot to me. I love it when she smiles."
Marah looked over at the smiling Tallulah just enjoying herself watching everything and chatting away with a man to her right.
It was a long goodbye. It took Marah several more minutes to slip out of that restaurant, and another minute before Tallulah ran up to catch up with her. Tallulah wrapped an arm around Marah and hugged her tightly. "Thanks for coming out, they all loved you! You know that right? Everyone loves you."
Marah blushed and shook her head. Nobody really loved her. She held onto her belly and smiled at Tallulah. "At least I'd have two women in this world that loves me, that I can be sure of." She winked. That wink was where it was at.
Tallulah laughed. "You're referring to me for once?! I am flattered!" She shouted and twirled around Marah letting go of her hug grip.
There was chatter between the two as they walked through the cold wintery village. Snow was falling. It was pitch black. The only light came from the warm windows of homes and shops. Marah didn't like the feeling out there. But, Tallulah clearly did. She was enjoying the snow and everything. "It's so beautiful out here."
Marah was just shivering, smiling. The smile wasn't a fake. She couldn't fake a smile with Tallulah around. Tallulah was what made this evening magical to her, nobody else, not even the friends that included her into their dinner conversations that night.
The couple made it back to their room. Marah fell into the bed. Tallulah collapsed next to her, just laughing. Alcohol was clearly on her breath. Marah was happy about this. She had tried so hard to get Tallulah to take a drink. Tallulah purposely tried to avoid alcohol around Marah. It was appreciated. Marah wanted a drink herself, but, knew she shouldn't.
She grasped her belly and moaned softly in pain. Such a difficult child she was carrying.
There was chirping. For some reason there were still birds outside the hotel room. They had nested and seemingly were in for the long haul through winter. They probably did not migrate. Marah just stared at the nest from the window, it was a low hanging nest on a young tree that wasn't quite protected from the wind at night.
Marah turned in her bed. She observed the room, noticing Tallulah was gone. She remembered what day it was. It was December 24th, 1989. It was a great day for Tallulah. Tallulah was about to see one of her childhood friends, one of her best friends tie the knot to a man that she loved more than the world. It was a great moment for them.
Marah slowly made her way up. Her belly aching away. The difficult child wouldn't calm down. She made her way to the shower and stepped inside the glorious hot water that soothed her aching back and stomach. She stepped out, dressed and laid back in bed watching the clock drifting back into sleep. She was exhausted.
"Marah..." She heard her name call, she felt someone touching her cheek. Her eyes opened to see a gorgeous woman in front of her, Tallulah. Tallulah was all snazzy. Dressed so well. "You look hot. Ready to go?" Tallulah asked. Marah didn't even need to give an answer. She just had to try to get out of bed. Tallulah helped her with this and everything else.
Tallulah grabbed her shoes, comfortable ones instead of heels and helped put them on. Tallulah stole a kiss. Tallulah grabbed her jacket and placed it over her shoulders. "Indoor wedding, so don't worry about layering."
Marah nodded and made her way forward. She wobbled on her feet, as they ached. But, she didn't complain. There was nothing in the world to complain about. Why would she complain? They were in Denmark. It was a simply gorgeous country. The village was gorgeous. She wouldn't have dreamed about going to Denmark without Tallulah. She never even thought about going to Denmark herself. What was so special about Denmark? But, now she realized. It was beautiful.
Marah made her way to the old building where the wedding was being held in. Tallulah opened the door and helped her find a great seat for the ceremony. She looked around. Everything was floating. Everything was held up by magic. Floating candles everywhere. She was in awe. She had spent much of her life with muggles, despite being a witch. But, now it was magic and magic was surrounding her. She was in love with it all. She was so entirely in love with everything.
Tallulah took a photograph of Marah's expression of being lost in the decorations. She placed a gentle kiss on Marah's cheek and disappeared into the ceremony taking more and more photographs. Marah had seen her photographs. They were gorgeous. It was a hobby for her, a great hobby. Something that probably should've been more of a hobby.
There was a soft music surrounding her. She heard the soft lyrics of a choir she couldn't even see. It reminded her of the frog choir, just beautiful. She looked around as the chairs filled. Tallulah glimpses were rare, she was trying to get everything done.
Without even expecting it the ceremony begun. She was distracted. Marah just watched. She watched as her girlfriend's best friends were sharing a wedding getting married. She watched as the groom stared down the aisle trying to see his bride, having to lean to the side to get away from the crowd standing with their cameras and other gadgets. The groomsmen were all now behind him. The bridesmaids were already up there. It happened so fast. The flower boy was fantastic.
Marah stared at the gorgeous bride she met last night as she walked down the aisle. She struggled to stand and finally made it to her two feet for the bride walking by. Marah smiled, Tallulah snapped photos, lots of photos of everything. "Let us get this straight, boy." The bride spoke in a forceful tone. "Mark your calendar for on this day you are right. You are correct just this one time. I used to throw a fit that I would never marry anyone. I would argue to my death I was against marriage. But, you my boy were right. This will never happen again. I am correct from now on, got it? I take you to be my husband, my loving husband."
The groom spoke his vows. The couple shared a kiss, and the reception erupted out rather quickly and as if by magic. It was by magic. Magic exists in the world. The chairs flew and spun around in a pattern as tables made small cracking sounds as they appeared above the chairs. The tables set themselves using magic and suddenly elves were visible running by snapping their fingers in rapid succession.
Marah sat down at a table, a place that already had her name. It was beautifully written and right next to Tallulah's. It was at the table with all the groomsmen and bridesmaids, the largest table, up next to the table where the bride and groom sat with their maid of honor and best man and the families of the bride and groom.
Marah felt a sharp pain. "Oh calm down little Penelope. Just five more weeks!" Food was available. But, Marah didn't get up. It felt too hard to get up again. She was aching. It was normal so far into the pregnancy. She'll deal with it.
A bridesmaid came and brought the food to her. A large plate piled up and a drink. She smiled. "The bride, or is she a wife now? Suggested we get you your plate before everyone else." Marah thanked her as she wandered off back into the line for the food. She looked down at her plate and suddenly someone sat next to her. Tallulah! She saw Tallulah's assistant snap a photo of them together. Tallulah just grabbed a roll off of the plate and ate it. Marah snorted and laughed.
The night dragged on, the dance floor erupted to life. There were great speeches. She couldn't make it to the dance floor without the help of a few people. But, Marah didn't make it to the dance floor. She collapsed to the floor and screamed out in pain. Fast and harsh pain that turned her pale dress stained with deep red colors.
It was a great night. It really was. Marah was happy. Tallulah was happy. Penelope was happy. The two were in love, and this was clear to all of Tallulah's friends. The night came to an end with Marah collapsing in bed.
"I am going to kill you Penelope!" Marah screamed as she glared over at Tallulah. Oh she was not happy with her first pregnancy. "You decide now to go be born?! We're on our vacation!" Tallulah just was jumping around packing a bag. It was a month too early. Too early for all of this. They had planned their entire year down to the day. Their schedules were busy. Their careers now had to be put on hold because their first child, their beautiful Penelope decided to be difficult and go into early labor. Little did they know they were going to end up with a boy... That night and a half a year in the hospital.
Little Penelope was kicking and kicking hard. Tallulah jumped up out of bed and gave a squeal... She quickly made her way around their room and was throwing things in a suitcase. "Hospital! Now! I know where one is at!"
"No... No... It'd pass she's still a month away."
Tallulah shook her head and pointed down at the ground. "We're leaving now." The water had broken.
