NAME:Nathaniel Matthew Asher-Fletcher.
AGE:Nineteen years old.
GENDER:Male.
SEXUALITY:Homosexual, though a bit curious.
SPECIES:Human and quarter shape shifter.
NATIONALITY:American.
OCCUPATION:Student.

APPEARANCE:Nathaniel Asher-Fletcher stands at the height of exactly six feet. His weight is at a hundred and fifty-five pounds. He does have some muscle mass and is rather tall compared to his mother. He is also rather thin, but his weight fluctuates about based on how active he is and what his diet has been. He's not heavy on exercise as if it is a religion. He doesn't have many distinguishing features. He has only one notable scar which is on his lower abdomen from when he has had his appendix removed when he was twelve years old. His face does have a visible freckle about an inch away from the left side of his mouth. He has another freckle like that on his left side neck.
He has wild hair to say the least. It is often groomed, but it can be messy. His hair is short or long. He has let his hair grow out to cover his eyes and ears. He will cut his hair back to being short when his mother complains enough for him to get it cut back. Both of his hair styles suit him, long and not long. His hair is brown and wavy. It is often combed to the side, brushed behind his ears or combed back. With wavy hair it's not too unmanageable, something he's thankful for. The eyes of Nathaniel are simply a thin almond shape. They take much after his father and he has his father's eyes which are hazel colored. In the lights sometimes they are brown, in other lights they can look blue. His eyes are rather relaxed looking and give off a soft feel, but are something someone would notice about him rather quickly.
The clothes of Nathaniel are rather normal for his age. They are brand name clothing's from mostly boutiques. A lot of the boutiques they come from also mostly cater to woman and are just beginning to carve a male niche, and hence his mother simply grabs him bags when she shops for herself. He gets rid of clothes he doesn't like or doesn't fit him well. Everything fits him quite well, except for jeans... Somehow he always manages to tear the bottom leg part of his jeans. For fashion he looks just like any normal person. He has upper end suits for functions he has to go to for his mother.
Examples of his style: One - Two - Three - Four - Five
CELEB CLAIM:Nolan Funk.

PERSONALITY:Nathaniel Asher-Fletcher is a man of a complex background to begin. He was raised by two very successful parents. His mother off being one of the best journalists of her time and his father off working in his family business of Fletcher Enterprises. He grew up knowing the success of his parents and within the power of both of his parents empire. He was born in the middle of a technological empire company and a media empire. From this he had learned to be an outgoing person that is addicted to technology. He learned to read fast and he learned to adapt.
By growing up with successful parents he had a great deal of great influences in his life as well as negative. He gained the intelligence of his parents and found school to be rather boring at times. He still finds classes boring and skips a good few of them and makes up the grade on the assignments and tests. He is a well-mannered person who was taught from a young age to show respect to others, no matter who they were. He was taught to grow up and give off a great appearance to anyone that approached him when his parents were about. With his parents he is the perfect little gentleman, he doesn't curse, he's polite, he uses his big words. He shows the world that he is a good child of his parents Matthew Fletcher, and Susan Asher. Simply put, he knows how to talk around important people.
When it comes to his friendship circle, he has a rather small circle of friends. His circle of friends is a few circles. He has close friends and family which are his best friends. He has his regular friends, and then simply people he respects and trusts. On the outside is everyone else. To the most part he's kind to most people. He doesn't have a great deal of enemies as he had taken care to avoid gathering enemies and putting off the wrong people. He stayed out of trouble. People probably think he's a rather private person when they meet him in person. Though by sending him text messages or contacting him online via social media they learn a great deal more about him. He is a well-guarded person and can keep secrets that he wants to hide for his friends and surprises hidden quite deeply.
When it comes to lying he lies quite well. But, he also trusts quite easily. His trust can be broken easily as well. For his best friends and family it takes a great deal to break his trust. For regular people he gives them the benefit of the doubt. But, when his trust is betrayed it's always easy to earn his trust back. He doesn't like talking much about his personal life that involves his parents. He doesn't want to say they're never home or if they're always running out. He doesn't want to tell others how he grew up on fast food. He is a loyal and protective person. He can seem to be overbearing and stubborn and annoying, only because he cares. If a friend's in the hospital they'd have to get security to remove him to get him to leave their bedside.
Relationships are something that is a territory that seems to be foreign to him. He has never truly dated anyone. He's kissed a few boys, went on a few dates. But, he has never had a long term relationship with anyone. He finds them foreign and he hasn't ever gotten emotionally attached to a boy he liked. He's easy going, he shows affection, he tries to make things normal. He will bend over backwards for someone he falls for. He even takes insults to himself personally. He takes almost anything personally. He has little direction in his life. But, he's quite good at making decisions regarding most things.
LIKES:[*]Reading -- He has always loved reading, he picked it up at a young age from his mother and practically grew up on her writings and her extensive book collection. It is a pastime he loves, though he mostly prefers Science Fiction books now days over the rest.
[*]Adrenaline -- It is not something he would easily admit, he quite loves going fast and speed. He loves new things and experiences such as roller coasters. He finds them a great deal of fun. The thrill, the high from the drill... The Adrenaline is to die for.
[*]Dogs -- He loves animals of course, he has always wanted a dog. But neither one of his parents have let him have one after his childhood dog passed away when he was fifteen. He still loves the animals and still wants to get a new dog one day.
[*]Mornings -- Most teenagers love the late nights. So does Nathaniel. But, what does he also love? The mornings. He loves seeing the sunset, the bright and early of the day, the cool crisp air. It lets him feel like he can slow down a bit and enjoy things.
[*]Running -- The one sport he has always been active at if it counts would easily be to run. Running has always been something he had done in the mornings. He begun doing it as a child with his father and it stuck to him in his teenage years when his parents split up. To this day he still runs right before the sun's up. When he's frustrated or upset he goes running. It's something that lets him escape.
[*]Independence -- Nathaniel rather likes being able to make his own choices. He's forced into things by a bossy mother. But, when he has the chance to make a choice he does so rather quickly. He loves choices, he loves being independent, he loves being on his own.
[*]Travel -- As every teenager he'd roll his eyes at the aspect of a family vacation. But, in the end he rather likes traveling. He can take his phone and be connected just about anywhere. At first he may not like the idea, but Nathaniel quickly warms up to the idea of travel. Where to next? He's quite eager for vacations and loves to help pick out destinations... If his parents would listen.
[*]Technology -- He's rather addicted to the modern lifestyle. He doesn't like being cut off from the internet and yet he rather loves technology. He likes his phone, his computers, his television, everything that runs off of power. Technology is a definite strong like.
[*]Boys -- Nathaniel's gay. He rather likes boys. His eyes check out guys when he walks by them. He looks in their eyes first and then they wander down to inspect the body. He has a so-so gaydar, but he responds to the sly smiles of guys with one of his own. He doesn't make the first move, but that doesn't stop him from liking boys. If they have blue eyes and messy hair it drives him wilder. Dark haired is his preference (brown or black). But all in all, he just really likes boys.
[*]Flying -- Nathaniel was lucky enough to be born a shape shifter. His primary form besides a human is a bird, he loves flying. He enjoys the freedom of flying quite well.
DISLIKES:[*]Sleep -- Sleep feels like a waste of time for Nathaniel. He loves sleep and hates waking up. At the same time he strongly dislikes sleep. He feels it's lost time. Hence he doesn't sleep for long nights.
[*]Disorganization -- Something he inherited from his mother. He cannot stand huge messes. A simple mess, like his bedroom is perfectly fine. He thinks things need order. When they looked disorganized it drives him a bit nuts.
[*]Family Reunions -- The first thing Nathaniel would say at a family reunion is simply: "Have you even met my mother?" He doesn't like the family reunions and he never has. It's just meeting a bunch of people who claim to be family when they really are not because Nathaniel has never met them nor has had a chance to trust them.
[*]Crows -- Simply put... Crows are freaky creatures. He doesn't like them. They're weird, they mimic human voices. They simply shouldn't exist in his opinion.
[*]Newspapers -- He can't stand them. The news is fine and all, but he's the son of a journalist. Breaking news, interviewing people, he feels it has made his mother distant from him, a bit cold to him at times. He doesn't want to support her industry, but he won't admit it to her.
[*]Ice -- He has never liked ice in his drinks. He doesn't know exactly why. He just wants his drink plain. He'd drink it warm if need it be. He thinks refrigerators are for drinks for a reason, no need to add ice that'd just be dumped out later.
[*]Turkey -- The most Unamerican thing about the young American, Nathaniel is the fact that he dislikes the taste of turkey. He always has. The first time his parents tried feeding it to him he simply spat it out. He has continued to do that each time they fed him turkey. Eventually everyone caught on that he doesn't like turkey at all.
[*]Tongue Tied -- This is something that Nathaniel would say everyone hates. He hates being tongue tied. He dislikes having something on the tip of his tongue but he cannot finish the saying. Tongue tying feels like a form of torture to him.
[*]Internet Downtime -- Along with power outages the next worse thing for Nathaniel to experience is internet downtime. He hates when things are down. He wants to be connected all the time. When the power goes off line, technology fails, internet goes down he defiantly does not like that.
[*]Homophobic People -- Homophobic people should just fall off the face of the earth in his opinion. Being a young homosexual man he quite hates homophobic people. He would stand and argue with them if need it be. Homophobia is something that Nathaniel has no patience for and a zero-tolerance code of honor.
SECRETS:Secrets, secrets. He has a great deal of small secrets such as things he keeps for friends. For most of his life post-puberty his deepest secret was being gay, but he did come out to supportive parents and thus that secret was thrown out the window. Now, his biggest secrets are simply his hope for his parents to get back together. He also thinks his mother doesn't spend enough time with him, but he's afraid to tell her... As it might offend her.
FEARS:One thing that Nathaniel has feared since being a teenager was being beaten up for who he was. He has had that done to him before, quite bad with a black eye that seemed to stick around forever. He rather hates being involved in a physical fight. He fears anything happening to his parents, anything at all. He's afraid of never figuring out what to do with his life, not being a successful person like his parents would want. And finally, spiders freak him the hell out. He'd freeze at the sight of a spider and act like a kid and throw things at it.
DREAMS:Dreams are something that are a large realm with Nathaniel. He dreams of traveling to Moscow one day, he dreams of going off and taking a trip to Alaska. He has dreams that he'd figure his life out and be successful, win the lottery. He's a man of a great many dreams. His biggest dream is simply a happy life.
STRENGTHS:[*]Decisive -- Give Nathaniel a choice and he'd give back an answer rather quickly. He is a decisive person who can make choices rather easily. He does offer the chance to others make choices and takes their input into consideration. He is not an indecisive person. Ask him what he wants for his birthday he has an answer. What to eat he has an answer. He doesn't simply shrug and say "I don't know".
[*]Persistent -- When something is on Nathaniel's mind he can be quite persistent. He sets goals and he makes them. He keeps his promises. He doesn't break his goals, if he finds it tough he'd break it into smaller pieces and turn it into a game. He tries his best to get himself motivated, he will remain persistent at almost any task.
[*]Creative -- One thing that Nathaniel has an abundance of is his creativity. He loves photography, he loves writing, drawing, anything really. He's not quite good at drawing or painting as he is at other things. But all in all he's creative in the way he chooses to do things, write, draw, photography. He finds different ideas for his homework. He's not afraid of trying something new, and he's perfectly fine with taking the fun way if it's harder.
[*]Observant -- From as long as he could remember he has always been an observant person. He watches things if they're new to learn them. He asks questions, he takes notes, he Googles things. He researches things while he observes on his phone. He can split his attention between tasks and being observant is one of his core default traits. He has great hearing, his ears are very acute.
[*]Intelligent -- There's no doubt about it. Nathaniel is an intelligent person who has inherited the traits of both his mother and his father. He learned his mother's good traits on studying and intelligence and creativity. He inherited his father's love for technology and the power of knowledge at one's fingertips. He grew up with intelligent people surrounding him and teaching him. It rubbed off a great deal on him.
WEAKNESSES:[*]Impatient -- Patience is a virtue that Nathaniel does not have. He's quite impatient and hates waiting for things. He taps his foot when he has to wait. When he's expected to hop in the car and his mother's taking a while he walks out of the car and goes inside again. He stays on his computer for an extra minute simply because he knows he'd have to wait anyway. Waiting is not a virtue he has. He likes things to be on time and he dislikes waiting. His phone helps alleviate a great deal of his impatience.
[*]Stubborn -- Like his mother, Nathaniel can be quite the stubborn bastard. It takes a while to persuade him to change his mind for most people and most topics. He either needs to be dragged along, or needs to be argued with. He doesn't change his path and he can be quite stubborn and persistent.
[*]Distracted -- Something most teenagers have to deal with... Nathaniel is no exception. He gets distracted quite easily. He can be distracted from things on his phone, to attractive boys walking by him on the street. This is the major reason he doesn't drive much: He's distracted and addicted to his phone. He's easy to distract. Simply call his name and it's easy to keep his attention. It gets quite annoying when he actually needs to work on something.
[*]No Direction -- He feels he has no direction in his life. He's so indecisive about what he wants to do with his life which is quite strange because he can make decisions easily. But, what does he want to do with his life? He doesn't know. He can't decide. He has no sense of direction in his life at all.
[*]Boys -- Boys are distractions. Huge distractions. He can't stand when an attractive looking guy is next to him. They stop him in his path. He looks up from his phone to stare at them. He stares at them in the eyes, looks at their torso, his eyes wander down lower for a glance. When the boy is shirtless from swimming, jogging, or whatever his heart pounds too hard. Boys. If he could perv on them he would... Does taking photos with his phone while pretending to talk to someone count? Imaginary face time is his pastime.
`your last breath, your last stance
the last of all in your command*
the last of all in your command*
HISTORY:Susan Asher a journalist on the brink of becoming world renowned traveled the world to interview a doctor, a doctor that has become well known to academics across the corners of the earth. His work was held in high regard, high esteem. This was the beginning of Susan and the renowned doctor Hans Lindbeck's threads tangling one another. Susan was a high spirited journalist, in love with her career. She had big dreams, dreams to travel the world, to break the news. She dreamed of being a major name in hard hitting journalism. And in journalism, Susan was good. She had raw talent and her talent was honed. It was as if she was meant to be a reporter.
In the Maldives where she met up with Hans Lindbeck things changed and hit the clouds. The two ended up in a bed. Susan was dominant, pushy. The man was a mysterious person with a charm that pulled her in. She fell for him. He fell for her. Their short-lived romance ended with Susan Asher becoming pregnant. This came to Susan as quite a surprise. She planned on going straight back to a developed country to get an abortion. But something processed her to tell the man, the father of the fetus. The one night stand turned into a month long romance where she found out of her pregnancy. She told him, and was ready to go terminate the pregnancy. But Hans Lindbeck had a different idea in mind. He wanted the child.
Time passed by. Susan decided to let the child be born. She felt trapped. She had a fiancé back home. How was she ever going to explain this to her fiancé? She became a cold and cruel woman toward Hans Lindbeck. He took the abuse and didn't complain. He took the child she left without even saying goodbye. She left her first-born there in Maldives, with a man she met nine months before... While she was engaged to another man. It was 1989 when she gave birth and left Maldives.
She came back to the United States. She kept the secret of Hans Lindbeck buried. She spoke of good times she didn't have. Her career came back as her primary focus. She built her life, she built her life with her fiancé who deeply loved her. Her fiancé was Matthew Wyatt Fletcher, a young bachelor man whose father was the founding member of Fletcher Enterprises more than twenty years ago. It was a technology company that was doing quite well and starting to make a name for itself. The infrastructure they were helping to build put them in a unique growth position. Matthew Fletcher and Susan Asher met years before, before Fletcher Enterprises was even a large company.
The two, Susan Asher and Matthew Fletcher married toward the end of 1989. Susan was proud of her name and her career and thus she kept her maiden name, the name she worked up with instead of becoming a Fletcher. Fletcher kept his name, he was quite content of it. The two had a great first year of marriage, no problems they ran into. They focused on their careers mostly and went on vacations across the world. Two years into their marriage in the year of 1991. Matthew decided to surprise his wife with a trip to the Maldives. She froze and didn't speak. Matthew knew this look far too well. He pressured Susan into talking. She became cold to him, distant, and didn't answer his questions. She avoided her own husband. It made him curious and start guessing things. After an hour of arguing he guessed, "Hans Lindbeck. You... Cheated on me with... A Steve Irwin imitator?!" Matthew Fletcher was furious at his wife. He turned around and left, walked straight out the door. What caused him to walk out the door was the fact there was a child. "I want a kid, Susan. You always said no. This isn't fair."
Their marriage was on the rocks for a while. The two stayed together. They rebuilt their trust and marriage. It took a while for Matthew to come around, but he was really deeply in love with Susan Asher. A few more years passed, in 1993 she became pregnant. In January of 1994 she gave birth to her second son, a baby boy. This time things were different for her. She stayed for the boy. She didn't flee the country or the hospital without a goodbye. She stayed, she wanted to be a good parent. The other child that was born to the marine biologist she didn't even want to know of him anymore. She wrote him out of existence in her mind. He didn't exist.
She had a baby boy. A healthy baby boy which who they named Nathaniel Matthew Asher-Fletcher. The first name was a name they both could agree on without arguing far too much. The middle name was of course for his father's as in tradition his father's family had. His father's middle name was the same as his father's first, the tradition carried. The last name ended up being hyphenated. Susan insisted on a dual name for the child, a name of both Asher and Fletcher and hence Asher-Fletcher was written on his birth certificate.
Wyatt Ronald Fletcher and his wife Marguerite Anne Fletcher decided to buy their son and his wife a home, to get them out of the condo they were living in together. The home was gorgeous and spacious. There was a nursery already built and painted with animals on the walls. It was a great home that the two enjoyed, minus the stairs. The stairs took some getting used to. The layout was modern, there was glass, the furnishings. Everything looked great to the two. Nathaniel grew up happily. He was a happy toddler. He got into everything. He was an adventurer. On his first birthday his grandfather gave him a gift, something he wouldn't understand until he was much older. He had started his only grandchild a trust fund:To my dear Nathaniel Matthew Asher-Fletcher;
We are thrilled to have you in the world with us. You made me smile far more than I have had since my son was a baby. I want you to have the best of everything. If anything would happen to me and your parents I trust you will be taken care of. Matthew, Susan, I'm giving Nathaniel 20% control of Fletcher Enterprises. Until such a time he turns eighteen years old the votes of the shares will stand behind Matthew. In addition I have set up a trust fund with an undisclosed amount to which Nathaniel will gain access upon his twenty-first birthday.
With my heart;
Wyatt Ronald Fletcher.
It was a complete surprise to the parents of Nathaniel to have their one year old to have control of twenty percent of his grandfather's company. Matthew was an only child and Matthew's only child was Nathaniel. Him and Susan decided not to have any more children, one was enough for them. Hence the future heir of the company lied in the hands of Nathaniel. Matthew finished more of his schooling after he went back and went to work for his father in a position as a manager within the family business.
Business meetings became common in the toddler years of Nathaniel. When Nathaniel was four years old Susan was freaking out at home. She was broken down into tears and calling a great many contacts frantically. In June 1998 the Fletcher Enterprises corporate jet crashed in a collision with an undocumented plane upon landing on a runway, half of the passengers died others were in critical condition. Matthew was supposed to be a flight. The melancholy of the news caused her to shake. She couldn't bear the thought of having to raise Nathaniel alone without Matthew. Matthew was the sole reason she wanted Nathaniel. She woke him up from his nap to simply give him a large hug and held him until a phone call came through. On the phone was Matthew. He had a last minute meeting and he wasn't on the jet. She never felt more relieved.
At the age of five the parents of Nathaniel decided it was a great idea to take Nate to a zoo that Fletcher Enterprises backed with sponsorship in celebration of hitting a hundred million dollars in worth. 1999 was a great year, the dot-com bubble was really helping them. The company was growing at a rapid rate. There seemed to be no end in sight. Stock prices rose for everything. Fletcher Enterprises invested part of their portfolio extra funds into other smaller companies in hopes to soak them up. The zoo was a great deal of fun. Nathaniel fell in love with the otters at the zoo. He wanted to play with them and kept asking if it were possible. He never got to pet the otters which saddened him. But he had become fascinated with them.
After the events of the zoo Susan decided to give Nathaniel a bath because he jumped in puddles and got himself wet and covered in mud. She left him alone in the bathtub and came back to her son missing... An otter in it. She screamed for her husband, Matthew. She thought it was a joke he was playing. Matthew just kept laughing and laughing over it. Susan was freaking out and slapped her husband. He had to look his wife in the eye without laughing. "Go get your camera and take a picture now." He said. She didn't want to, he repeated the words and she reluctantly grabbed her dslr camera. She snapped a few pictures of the adorable otter and placed the camera on her bed and demanded Matthew tell her what's going on. "He's a shifter, hun." He smirked at his confused wife and turned into an golden eagle in front of her. She freaked out and screamed. He shifted back. "I'm a half blooded shape-shifter. I wasn't sure if our son would inherit it or not. But... He's a quarter. He'd probably only get one form... Maybe two? But won't be able to shift as easily as I can. He'd find it difficult." He sat down and explained to her things he knew of the shifters and swore her to secrecy about them. Susan Asher had found out that her son, Nathaniel was not completely human. He was one quarter shape shifter.
There was a company picnic when Nathaniel was seven years old. He was doing good at the private school they had enrolled him in. He struggled with his math of course. His reading scores were quite strong much to his mother's liking. At the company picnic he was placed in a group of other kids there. One of the kids approached him and introduced herself as Natalie. Natalie and Nathaniel would quickly become friends, and soon best friends. They had fun with each other. Every meeting since then they were attached at the hip. It took a few months for Matthew Fletcher to notice, he invited Natalie's father over to the house for the children.
Natalie was Nate's best friend. Nate was her best friend. They were two peas in a pod. When their childhood raced on by the two made sure they had a great deal of fun with it. They went to the zoo, carnivals, went on a vacation once together with Nathaniel's father, had sleepovers. The two even built a giant leaf pile just to jump in it and complain about how itchy the leafs were in their clothes.
At the age of twelve years old Nathaniel experienced sharp pains in his lower abdomen. His father recognized the signs as he had it himself around Nathaniel's age. He was taken to the hospital and put under surgery to have his appendix removed. When he came into recovery and was allowed to eat ice cream and play his hand held Nintendo Pokemon game, Natalie came to the hospital and shared his ice cream with him. She had fought her father to come and check up on her best friend. Nathaniel was quite happy with this.
Though many companies experienced a great amount of loss after the dot-com bubble burst in 2001, Fletcher Enterprises didn't. They were a private company. Their stocks weren't available to the public. They weren't publically listed. For the first time in the company's history they hit the big mark of one billion dollar estimates. The year was 2007 and Nathaniel just turned thirteen. Thirteen was a terrifying time for him because his parents have decided to separate. Nathaniel never found out why his parents separated, they just told him they weren't in love with one another any longer. The truth h however was the fact Susan Asher cheated on Matthew Fletcher. He couldn't give her a second chance as it was her second chance. Twice she cheated, he didn't want anything to do with her anymore. But, he wanted his son.
Nathaniel begun high school. His parents were thrilled at their handsome young man being so well behaved and was performing well in high school without asking for much help from either of them. Natalie was still his best friend. Fourteen was a great time of much experience for him. But the real deal came at fifteen years old. Nathaniel had realized something serious about himself. A big fact. He realized he wasn't interested in girls like the boys were his age. The girls were interested in flirting with the boys. Nathaniel didn't. Nathaniel felt things about boys. It terrified him at first and Natalie laughed it off and explained to him it just meant he was gay. He didn't know how to take it. It was 2009. There were stories on the news about kids who got beat up for it, committed suicide. He didn't know what to think... What to do.
As a teenager Nathaniel also learned his second shift form. It was the form of a ferruginous hawk. At first the shift was malformed with a missing wing. Over time and practice it became better and better. He finds it difficult to turn into a hawk, much more difficult than the otter. He hasn't really gotten to use the form much because his clothes are left behind and he once fell out of the form too soon and fell to the ground, luckily he was close to the ground.
At fifteen years old Nate broke down crying in front of his parents coming out to them that he was gay after a hard time and getting beaten up in school over it. His father was furious he got beaten up at school over it. His father threaten to pull him out and the school quickly changed their policy and watched after Nathaniel more. it took him a few weeks to go back to school, his mother coddled him a bit and let him stay home. Though she gave him some tough assignments, tougher than school. He took it. It kept him away from other people. When he started going back to the school he was hit with hard news. His parents' divorce was finalized. He did not like this one bit.
At sixteen it was time for him to learn to drive. He had learned to drive. His dad took a great deal of care to teach him in the country. He had a blast teaching Nathaniel to drive, but Nathaniel never went around to get his driver's test done. His mother thought it was better because he was always on his phone. Nathaniel was addicted to his phone. Susan Asher decided to begin a new rule at the dinner table... Which was leaving the phone in the middle of the table. Any message on the screen was fair game.
Seventeen years old was the age Nathaniel was when he had his first kiss with a boy he thought he was interested in. The two never went anywhere outside of basic groping. Nathaniel didn't feel a spark for him after the kiss. The boy was moving away. Nathaniel assumed it was the knowledge that the boy wouldn't be in Essex much longer. Hence he just accepted it. He focused on his studies and his phone. Eighteen years old hit him and he graduated high school with high marks. He was considering taking a year to just wander about Europe. His mother told him he had to go straight to university and she use her own leverage and pull along with Matthew's pull to get him into a local college. One problem was that Nathaniel had no idea what he wanted to do and he knew what he'd have to do one day... Take over Fletcher Enterprises.
In January 2013 Nathaniel turned nineteen years old. He was beginning his second semester of his freshman year. Things were great. Him and Natalie were off great, school seemed a bit boring. He was still a teenager at heart. He listened to his parents, his mother even grounded him in February for coming in too late.
Soon something happened... A man came to his mother's home. Nathaniel was at his mother's house early that day and witnessed his mother answering the door for some boy. She invited the boy in and showed him the guest room. "Don't talk to him." She said. She called him an old friend. Susan seemed quite off about Nathaniel questioning the old friend, the boy that was just a few years older than him. "He's only staying for a couple of weeks. The son of an old friend," she spoke. "Don't bother talking to him too much, he's not going to stay long. I have to go to work now." She told him in a hushed voice and took off out the door.
Nathaniel was curious. He couldn't resist. He shot up the stairs and stood in the doorway of the guest room. He knocked on the wood and stepped inside the room with the open door to watch the mystery boy. "Hey. I'm Nate. Who are you?" He introduced himself to the boy. The boy had replied that his name was Samson. Nate picked up his phone and shot a text message to his father seeing if his father knew who the boy his mother invited inside their home and left right after was. He asked how old Nathaniel was, Nate answered "Nineteen". His answer was short and concise to the curious boy.
He apologized on behalf of his workoholic mom having to take off on such short notice. But, Nathaniel was quickly distracted by one thing... The boy took off his shirt and looked gorgeous. Nathaniel was a gay man that checked out other men quite often. One in his own home, shirtless with a fine torso caused his jaw to drop. He sent a text message off to his best friend, Nat (Natalie) about the hot guy in his house. He pretended he was on FaceTime and snapped a photo of him while Samson put away his clothes and things. Samson had pointed out that Nathaniel asked a lot of questions. Nathaniel simply laughed at the statement and brushed it off. "Need a hand with those?" Nate asked looking about the guest room. "Oh man. I forgot how plain the guest rooms are." He slid his phone back into his left pocket.
Samson just flashed him a polite smile and spoke to him softly, "No. I'm just about done anyway." He looked around the room to judge Nathaniel's comment. He thought there was nothing wrong with the room. Nathaniel offered him the choice of playing his xbox, playstation, or his wii. "I never played a video game in my life." Samson spoke to the younger man. Nathaniel went onto talk about food, and how he should place an order. "I just got off a nineteen hour flight... Cardboards gonna taste good to me at this point." he joked with a smile. The two went into idle chatter about how Nathaniel's mom acted. Nathaniel simply apologized. Nathaniel simply called her a workoholic and sent off a text message on his phone that just chirped. "Would I have time for a quick shower?" He asked.
With Samson still shirtless in the room, Nathaniel couldn't help but to stare. His heart was pounding as he was staring. Nathaniel shook his head. "Oh... Yeah. Um... There." He pointed to the bathroom behind him as he was standing in the doorway. "I can go get you a towel and body wash. They're in my bathroom." He smirked and put his phone back into his pocket as he had taken it out once again to text someone. Nathaniel quickly sprung into action, he walked out into the hall and pushed open the bathroom door to reveal its location to Samson. "I'll bring the body wash and towel for you," he spoke as he walked away down the long hallway into his bedroom. He subconsciously kicked the door shut. It was something he always had done It was still ajar a bit. He quickly moved and grabbed his large pillows and threw them to the end of his bed so he can lay back on his bed and have a good view of the hallway. He was nineteen years old. A half naked good looking man was in his home. He was planning to catch him. Nate picked up his phone as it chirped again and he sent off new text messages to his dad and his best friend, Nat. He placed the phone down on the counter in his bathroom as he bent down to grab a towel from the cabinet. He walked deeper into the bathroom and opened the glass shower to pull down the bottle of his body wash.
He glanced at his phone again and got distracted by the phone. He stood there for a few minutes and left his phone on the counter and went to go take the body wash and towel to Samson. He walked down the hall hoping to place it in the bathroom but Samson was already in the shower. He could hear the water running. Nathaniel had great hearing he has since he was a kid. He knocked on the door softly to find the door was ajar and unlocked. "I have your towel and body wash... I'll place it on the counter." He spoke softly and stepped in. He looked away from the glass of the shower door and focused in the opposite direction. he placed the body wash and the towel on the counter and glimpsed the wet torso of the man in the shower from the mirror on his way out, only seeing the torso. Samson leaned out of the shower and spoke to him. It surprised Nathaniel and caused him to move even faster.
He couldn't help but grin as he walked back to his room to sit on the edge of his bed. He grabbed his laptop and opened the lid to begin typing away. He was distracted by the laptop. He spent a while on his laptop. When he looked up he realized Samson was standing in his doorway. Nathaniel smiled softly and gave a wave realizing something. "Shit! I forgot to send our order!" He quickly opened his laptop again and went to the Chinese restaurant website. He ordered the usual him and his mother usually got and snapped the laptop shut. "If you'd rather I can call my dad's office he can send us a car to take... Nevermind. Chinese!"
Samson looked around his room. He commented in how come it's so neat. "How can you deal with this place being so neat?" Nathaniel shrugged and said it was hammered into him. He stood up from the bed and walked to the bathroom counter to grab his phone and shut off the light. He paused to check the messages he had missed and sent a message back to his dad about Samson being there. His dad asked for the last name. Nate couldn't answer his father and pocketed the phone. Nathaniel looked back at Samson and mentioned the maid service helps clean the place. "Maid service?" Samson looked at him. "Send a car? How... How rich are you?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
Nathaniel shrugged as he sat down on the edge of his bed. He wasn't quite sure. "Um... How rich am I?" Nathaniel asked back. He stood back up and walked across the room to push open a small drawer in his dresser. He grabbed out his wallet and opened it. "I only have fifty dollars." He spoke and sat back down. He laughed. "My parents are well off. I guess? I actually never looked into it. Fletcher Enterprises... Heard of it?" Nathaniel asked grabbing his laptop and pointed at the logo on the lid. "I can Google my dad's network... Oh damn, no wait. My grandma would be better." He grabbed his phone out of his pocket and typed in some searches. "Grandpa makes a dollar a year salary... Stock options. Here. Forbes. Five and a half billion dollars?" He dropped his phone to his side. He knew his grandfather was well off. "Where are you from? My mom and dad married like right after she came back to the States from some far away island like Fiji, Maldives... Somewhere. Where you from? Your accent... Hard to place. Man I wish they would've stayed together long enough to give me a sister or a brother... Oh well." Nate shook his head and grabbed his phone to look at his dad's name. "Hah! WikiPedia... Married to Susan Asher. Wonder why I'm not listed in offspring? Weird."
Samson looked at him, amused with the fact that Nathaniel was taking the questions seriously. He raised an eyebrow at the number he gave. It was more than he expected to hear. "Damn. My dad's only in the millions." He spoke shifting his posture in the doorway. He was a down to earth person with simple clothes. He didn't look like the kid of a millionaire. "Privacy? You're young. Maybe your parents didn't want to worry about things happening to you." He spoke answering the question of why Nate wasn't listed. "My dad's a marine biologist. I've spent my entire life moving around. Nathaniel froze and asked if Samson's father was like Hans Lindbeck on television. "My dad is Hans Lindbeck... Your mom was one of the first people to do a full story on him. But, that was about twenty-three years ago."
The two kept idle chatter... Nathaniel was in shock that Sam's father was Hans Lindbeck, a marine biologist he grew up watching on television. He spoke about otters and how much he liked otters and showed Samson some pictures he had of otters. His phone rang interrupting them. The number was the delivery number he was used to. "Gate's open." Nathaniel spoke into his phone and hung up. He grabbed his wallet and headed downstairs with Samson following suit. He opened the door in just about perfect timing and grabbed the food and handed a twenty dollar tip. Everything else was charged to his mother's card already. He walked into the dining room and placed the food down and Samson joined him.
The two talked about Nathaniel's mother for a while. Of how different she acted and how cold she seemed that day. Nathaniel apologized on his mother's behalf. Her words seemed to be inappropriate. She wasn't happy to see Samson. Nathaniel wasn't sure why. The reason why was because she written Samson out of her life, he didn't exist to her. The two ate their food. Nathaniel told Samson he had nothing to worry about if his mom didn't call security on him. He told Samson he knew how his mom could seem fake sometimes and lie. He recognized it in his own mother when it happened. Samson arriving was one of those moments.
His phone rang, Natalie called him. She immediately asked about the hot guy and demanded proof. Nathaniel was careful in his word choices in trying to describe Sam without Sam realizing he was describing him. But Samson wasn't paying attention. Nat hung up and declared she'd be over in five minutes. He continued eating and talking to Samson. Natalie arrived a minute earlier than cue. "I swear you get quicker each time." He amused and grasped Natalie in a hug when she asked where the hot guy was aloud. When she entered the dining room she pointed at him and Samson. She recognized something that Nathaniel hasn't yet. She pointed inbetween the two as if she were at a loss for words. "What?" Nathaniel asked. She claimed they looked related. "Impossible. I don't have any siblings. My parents only had me." He shrugged.
Samson dropped his chopsticks and went quiet. Things were falling together. "Why do you think your mother was in the Maldives for almost a year for one interview?" Samson told him. Nathaniel paused. He froze. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. His mother had another kid for him and never told him. "Wait..." Nathaniel spoke. "What...?" Nathaniel couldn't believe what he was hearing. He stood up from the table and jolted out of the dining room and the living room and begun running.
Natalie ran after him. "Stop! Nate! Nate! Stop!" She caught up to him. Nate was looking at the ground and stopped for Natalie. "Imagine how he's feeling. His mom didn't even want him. You are lucky. It's just me, my sister and my dad Nate. My mom wasn't there. You had both. You were lucky... I know how this makes you feel. They have their reasons. Go back Nate... Talk to him." Natalie kept speaking to him and cheered him up. "I swear if I were straight I'd chase after you." Nathaniel spoke to Natalie to which she only responded: "Oh please, you couldn't catch me if you tried."
And thus Nathaniel learned he had a half-brother against the wishes of his parents. Natalie kept hitting on Samson. Nathaniel just wanted to wipe some moments from his mind. After a few weeks of staying with them in his mother's house Samson moved out with Nathaniel's help finding a place and getting a car. He's trying to get on better terms with his brother, to actually get to know the brother he has, he always has but never knew he had. Nathaniel still cannot drive himself. He has always got far too disracted.
And now Nathaniel has to get used to a new world. His mother lied to him from the very beginning. His father's busier than ever with Fletcher Enterprises. He's being forced to go to a college by his mother when he wanted to travel more. His father had a business that he'd have to inherit one day. It was pressure. Pressure meant it was time to run, and let the energy out.
