characters you already play ; Iwan Rhydderchcharacter information!
the basics
character name ; Kastian Blaine Winokur (His last name was once Everett).
nickname(s) ; Kast, Cast, Kass, Kass, Blaine, sometimes jokingly called Kassie. He is called Blaine Winokur by Greyson when he is in trouble or Greyson really needs him to know he is serious.
age ; Fifteen years old.
date of birth ; January 25, 1994.
blood status; Kastian was born half-blood to parents whom were both half-blood and so on for a few generations. His current father is pure-blood, however, Kastian is not, but, he doesn't worry or question blood purity. Kastian is not exactly sure what his blood type is, but, records will show his parents were wizards. When questioned about it he says his entire family is pure-blood, because that is the truth for his current family. If his biological family history is traced, it'll take several generations to find a muggle-born married in.
sexual orientation ; Likely heterosexual, but, willing to try anything at least once or twice... maybe three times. If he's having fun, he won't question it.
wand ; Kastian has a ten inch rowan wand. His wand is straight, but, slightly flexible and light. With a fairy wing the wand seems as light as a quill feather pen. With this light wand, it makes charms easier for him to cast. This wand is not easy to master, but, yet, not too hard. The wand is reliable when it does have something mastered because of its structure and makes it easier for him to recast something he had mastered. This wand is a favorite, and seems to be a perfect match for the personality of Kastian. His wand is somewhat durable, but, it wouldn't be able to survive being stomped on by a great force, or being ran over. It can handle drops, only if it lands on a soft surface. Kastian takes great care of his wand, and it is mostly shiny, and polished.
affiliation ; Kastian will go with his father, and support the Order of the Phoenix if he is old enough to do so, otherwise, he'd remain neutral until he can help the organization out. His parents died for the organization, and he understands the value of their work. He does have some loyalties to the Kipler Knights, an organization he is considering joining.
the appearance
height & weight ; Kastian Winokur is still a teenager in puberty and is growing at a constant normal rate. He has been experiencing a small growth and the speed of his growth has been rising ever since he had hit the teenage years. Currently he stands at five feet and five and a half inches. In the near future he will be growing a few more inches as time goes on. He currently weighs one hundred and ninety pounds; muscles are starting to make him take up more weight by him being motivated more in sports. He holds a slim body type, that is destined to become tall.
hair ; The teenager has short dark brown hair that seems to be different in different settings. When he is in a dark setting his hair may seem black. Under the sunlight his hair will seem to chestnut light brown. His hair is straight and is generally short, he doesn't allow his hair to grow past his ears and eyes. When he wakes up in the morning his hair would be very messy as he moves a lot in his sleep, so, hence he combs his hair down and keeps it groomed and manageable.
eyes ; Kastian has average-wide hazel-brown eyes. His eyes rest under eyebrows that draw attention away from his eyes, but, his eyes would pull back attention as if they were fighting one another. When looking into his eyes sometimes it can seem that his pupils and color are bigger then his eyes due to them being wider then taller. This is because it is how he holds them open.
facial features ; Kastian Winokur has a oval-heart shaped head with a somewhat squared chin/jaw. He has a smooth and flat forehead with hair that generally comes down to half of the height. The teenager has an average sized nose with eyes just half an inch from his nose bridge. Kastian has a small thin mouth with wide lips to make the perfect 'pucker up' look. His skin is pale, and sometimes, may seem a bit tanned if he was outside too long. He is Caucasian.
distinguishing features ; On the pale skin of Kastian he has no notably easily-visible markings on his skin. However, if the back of his leg is check, just above his popliteal fossa (back of knee/knee pit) he has a small light strawberry colored marking that looks like a triangle with a malformed side. This marking is only a half of inch big and is not easily noticeable unless someone is deliberately looking for it. He has no scars, tattoos, or piercings. He does wear size seven and a half shoes.
style ; Kastian has a verity of different clothes and is willing to look at other styles at least once. He dresses how he wants with what he has. Clothes shopping is not something he enjoys. His entire wardrobe is something that his father, Greyson had picked out. He had made some choices, but, not all of his wardrobe has them.
His pants are never too tight, and are loose enough that his legs are comfortable and aired out but not too loose that his pants are falling or it looks like he is wearing the wrong size. His swim suit is white. He prefers to wear pants over shorts, however, shorts aren't exactly that uncommon. He generally wears shorts more when he's out exercising or playing a sport.
He tends to like to wear striped shirts. His striped shirts can range from just simple few stripes, to many stripes. He basically would wear any type. Button up shirts are not uncommon to him, but, if he does they are usually finely made and are a lighter caller such as white. When he wears a sweater he tends to like to stick to the same style as his shirts are. He has a collection of jackets, his favorite being a jean jacket, and a black jacket. His plain colored shirts are generally small v-neck that come down a few inches below his neck collar line.
Kastian has a few sets of robes available for when he needs them, and has them done with his house logo over the school. As soon as he can get out of the school robes he would.

Herbology & Healing Magics
“What's that? That? And that?”
There is no question about it, Kastian Winokur's favorite subject by far is Herbology. He had developed an interest in Herbology over the summer between his first and second year. Kastian's father, Greyson had an interest in Herbology and other fields of healing magic. Greyson would be at home studying or trying to prepare for something he needed to know, or just to refresh his memory. Kastian would become curious and wanted to know what he was doing. Greyson would often times find Kastian peeking over his shoulder or sitting next to him pointing at the book's photographs or objects he had out asking what they were. “What's that? That? And that?” Each time he got an answer, he repeated the process with different objects.
His curiosity was by far the reason for his greatest interest in Herbology. By Greyson being so interested in the subject it made Kastian interested. By questioning his father and stealing his books, and even stealing a book from his grandfather's shelf. In his first year he had not done very well with his Herbology lessons and had trouble grasping things and believed it was boring. He simply had no passion for the subject. He was plagued by nightmares, and having Herbology early in the morning did not help him as he was overtired.
In the second year of Hogwarts his grades in Herbology drastically improved and he won an award, the Herbology Lesson Cup that was awarded to second years. His grades had drastically improved, he went from having a Poor and Acceptable mark in his first year to two Outstanding marks in his following years. Because of his father, Greyson, he had developed a strong interest for Herbology and some of the magic that goes around it. His father was a healer, a nurse of sorts, and this peeked Kastian's interest to be alike. By Herbology not being natural to him, if his father, Greyson stops his interest in the subject so would Kastian. He is only mimicking his father's like.
Ladies & Hormones
“Girls? Ewww! I'll never like them!”
Puberty had finally settled onto the body of the young Kastian Winokur. His biological parents never got a chance to see their child grow from being a boy to a young man, and would never get the chance to see him grow into a man, hopefully making them proud. Greyson had taken over this interest since his parents' death. Upon hitting puberty and hormones taking over his body, Kastian had encountered having a talk with Greyson, whom explained everything to him. It felt awkward, as Greyson was his father. But, Kastian heeded every word he had said and trusted Greyson.
As a child he could have sworn girls had cooties, and would thing the kisses were disgusting. He thought it was the last thing he'd ever like. “Girls? Ewww! I'll never like them!” Toward the end of being thirteen, and nearly fifteen years old he found himself contradicting his childhood self. He liked girls, he was developing an interest in them. Girls having cooties was long gone from his mind. He was more interested in what they were doing, what they were, and seemingly tried to avoid a few of them that constantly seemed to distract him.
Being fifteen and a half years old, he still likes girls and has never made a move toward one. He now understood what the like was, and how things worked. He was only fifteen and was somewhat looking forward to having a girlfriend. At the present time he tries to ignore looking further and having a crush or not. His little crushes seemed to be changing by the day, so he stopped bothering. There has not yet been a single person he had liked outstanding compared to all the others. But, girls breached the mind of the young one constantly. He was glad the nightmares were mostly over, and he went to focus on the ladies.
He will go out of his way for the girls, to hold open doors for them, pull their chairs out if they're eating with him. He would even do this if not dating the girls. He could use the good credibility. He is still awaiting to have his first serious relationship and kiss.
Writing & Creativity
“It's role playing dad. Heard of it?”
Kastian had always been creative in his ways. He was clever in his writings and was curious about others' ways of doing things. He had found ways to get his work done in different approaches then one would thing. He had found clever and creative ways to deal with herbs, his schoolwork, and ways of simply having fun. He would use a combination of spells very few have ever thought of to help himself finish a potion quicker, or a combination of charms to help himself finish his Herbology work.
He had fallen in love with fictional writing at an early age and loved to read other's. Fictional books would become his largest distraction over everything else, including schoolwork. He loved the fiction, the carefully crafted words, everything about it. He had fallen in love with so many things about writing, and creativity. He would find himself staying up to the late hours of the night writing away a story that was locked into his head. A story would plague his mind until it came out, or he simply pushed it away to forget. He had a tough time writing the perfect words, but, when he did they were suitable to him.
Role playing with others had become a popular output of his creativity through his writing skills. It allowed him to craft a unique story while being dictated not by himself, but, by others. He loved getting lost in the ideas of writing and it took over his love of creative writing to fictional short stories. He would find himself writing responses to others on pieces of parchment that floated around the corridors of the grand castle. Other times he would find himself casting a simple revealing charm on the margins of some books in the library and write his response and hide them again. He would always check back or track down the parchment that floated off to read the responses.
Once his father was looking over his shoulder as he was writing a fictional response to someone for their game to send it off using his owl (provided the owl did not get lost), Kastian smiled and explained what he was doing to his father. “It's role playing dad. Heard of it?” Kastian was proud of himself for the creative writing and role playing. He enjoyed it. He was not the best, but, he enjoyed it and that is all that mattered to him.
Quidditch & Sports
“I want a broom. I don't like the school brooms.”
Quidditch had always been something his parents were interested in. They loved the games and even had tickets to the 1994 World Cup series before he was born. Kastian never retained the interest into the sport until his third year at Hogwarts. Out of nowhere this new interest came to him. He became more interested in flying on a school broom, in looking at the teams play. Quidditch had come a popular event to look forward to and keep a schedule handy. It also helped him for house pride as well.
He had admired Adian Kincaid, Nicolas Athenias, Amata Athenias-O'Doyle and many other's game. Kastian had tracked down the players he admired across all the houses to ask them for tips on the broom and about the game. Most of them made time for an adoring fan and talked to him for a few moments and gave him some verbal advice or just a thanks. It made him happy to do so.
Kastian had ran into Ariel Miles a few times to catch up on the stats and question the game. He learned the game quickly. One of his favorite player is Akihiko Yuudai because he is the first of the quidditch players he had met by being the same year, and, that he was the brother of a good friend.
“I want a broom. I don't like the school brooms.” He had asked as soon as he returned home for winter break of this third year. Greyson had heeded his request and gotten him a broom for Christmas. He took it back with him to school for the new school year. Ever since then he fell more in love with the sports falling around flying.
Games & Playfulness
Even if he loses, he is a good sport.
Kastian is a very playful person. He loves games, sports, and just generally having fun. He had always been a playful person and loved his games. He would rather to have fun over anything else as it strives off boredom. If he is not bored, he is fine and doesn't care what happens even if he loses. He would get involved in some games so deeply that he would forget about doing his schoolwork. However, with his father stay on top of his grades, he tries to get his schoolwork done before he starts playing a game again.
He likes most all non-gambling games such as message role plays, video games, quidditch, and board games. He would play against anyone no matter their skill level and even down his game to make it more fair for the other. If he loses a game he is a good sport about it and does not get angry. Often times he would challenge his opponent to a rematch or question them about their tactics trying to learn to up his game.
He prefers hand held games such as his PSP or Nintendo DS over other models as he can easily take them with him, including to Hogwarts, where he can have magic. He uses the devices on the train ride or in Hogsmeade. Was frustrated in his fourth year after Hogsmeade was closed and he couldn't play a new game that his father, Greyson just sent him. If someone would ask him for a round of a board game, he would likely play it just to play it. Games are a big part of his social life, and is how he connects with some of his friends.
His favorite stores, if Honeydukes isn't counted, are Zonko's Joke Shop and Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. He loves the games, jokes, and the fun hilarity they ensure. He found himself asking, “Are you sure this will work?” constantly at the joke shops as he played with an objecgt.
Sweets & Honeydukes
“Can I just have one more piece?”
Ever since his first trip to Honeydukes Kastian had always been a kid in a candy shop. He loved wandering the shop and grabbing candy of all sorts to take home and try out. It is not uncommon for him to spoil his meals by eating too much sweets from the candy shop. He liked to try out the new candies the shop had come up with over everything else.
When he was younger his parents had to constantly take away his candy and keep it away from him because he would eat it all at one sitting. He would find himself arguing with his family constantly trying to seek one more piece. “Can I just have one more piece?”
Friends & Social Life
“My friends are the best in the world.”
The friends and family of Kastian Winokur are the foundation of his social life. He is friends with his family. And he is friends of his friends. He is even friendly to everyone that comes by him that would try and talk to him, even, if they had hurt him in the past. He has a deep trust for his friends and is a great listener. If something were bothering a friend they could come to him and use him as a shoulder and an ear and he'd sit there listening to them making his friend his top priority over everything else.
He is very loyal to his friends, no mater what. There is no question about his loyalty to his friends. If him and a friend drifts apart, even if they had betrayed him, he will remain a friend. He will try his best to be there for his friend if they call him. He would find himself saying, “My friends are the best in the world.” to his father constantly. He truly believes he has the best social network of anyone.
Reading & Good Books
“Yes dad, I'll get my homework done.”
He would find himself lost in a completely new world and time drifting away from him. If he is not pulled away by the lure of something else, once he cracks a book he would stick with it. He really hates taking a pause in the middle of a book. Stopping at a chapter is not enough for him, he wants to finish the entire book. However, he dislikes the classics and prefers fictional and fantasy books over all else. If something does not hold his interest, he'd drop the book and never return to it.
A few times he had gotten out his writing supplies and tried to write sequels to the book he had just enjoyed. Usually they never got very far and he just lost the papers or they got tossed out as he realized he hated the idea he tried. “Yes dad, I'll get my homework done.” His father had to stop him from reading a few times just to get him to actually finish his summer or winter schoolwork.
Father & Hogwarts
“Just came by to say hi, dad!”
Kastian has a strong desire to be his own person. Even with this desire, he does like having his father at Hogwarts. It is something he likes and dislikes and cannot form an exact opinion on. He would likely be on the neutral setting about what he thinks about his father coming to work at the majestic magical school. “Just came by to say hi, dad!” Kastian is attached to his father and would find excuses to swing by the hospital wing to greet him.
dislikes ;
Public Speaking & Stage Fright
Sometimes he'd just faint.
It takes a great deal for the young male to go up in front of others and speak publicly. He hates having to give oral reports in front of a large audience and would become nervous and extremely sweaty when he has to do so. He can speak in front of a small group of friends, or a few strangers, but, however when it comes toward a larger group such as a classroom or in front of a school he starts to have a problem.
His stage fright is bad enough that he would faint if there were too many people in front of him and they were all depending on him to come up with some speech on the spot. Otherwise, when reading a report, he would be quiet, shaky and would speak just loud enough for the professor to hear him and sit back down at his desk.
The stage fight sometimes is upfronted by his love of some subjects. He can find himself asking questions in front of the class or giving answers. But, he cannot find himself being the one to present the materials to the class himself. He cannot do a professor's or a leader's job.
Transfiguration & Schoolwork
“Yes! I got it done.”
Transfiguration is by far the worst subject for the teenager. He had always hated the subject and never got along with it since the first day. In his first year he found himself accidentally hitting his professor with the spell he was to be doing on a live mouse. His other schoolwork has improved drastically since his first year at Hogwarts, but, his Transfiguration had always remained his weakest.
Schoolwork has always been a low priority to him. He'd rather be doing something he enjoys. When it comes to Transfiguration work he'd just push it off until the last moment of which he needed to finish it to keep a decent grade or he got bored enough to want to do it. He eventually does get all of his schoolwork done, but, most of it is not done to his fullest potential. Having his father at Hogwarts really helps him keep his schoolwork from not falling down the drain. “Yes! I got it done.”
Staying Still & Boredom
“I'm bored.”
Staying still is something that is tough for Kastian Winokur. He cannot find himself staying still for every long except for when he's in class or sleeping. He can stay still if he's playing a game, with a friend, and not bored. When he is bored and staying still it is really tough for him to stay still. This makes him a very impatient person and he does not cope with having to wait extended period of times.
If he is bored, he'd give up and go elsewhere most likely unless he has an obligation to stay behind.
Rejection & Overcoming Shyness
Not hard to put himself out there... but rejection sucks.
It is not very hard for Kastian to overcome his shyness and make a new friend or help a stranger out. He in reality is a very sweet person that is willing to talk to anyone that would take the time out of their day to talk to him. He would put himself out there to make a new friend if they make the move toward him, or just want to take the time to talk to him.
However, when he puts himself out there to make a new friend and gets rejected he does take it a bit hard. It is hard enough for him to put himself out there only to be rejected.
Nightmares & Memory of parents
Pretend they don't exist...
Kastian used to have very bad nightmares that caused him to constantly wake up in a cold sweat. His nightmares normally involved some type of fire and something burning down. The nightmares focused around his worst memories of his parents, or of close friends in family being in peril involving fire. This is rooted back to the murder of his parents when he was a child. Greyson had helped him through his nightmares, and they had pretty much come to an end through his mid-first year at Hogwarts. However, he still does get them now and then and would lose a night of sleep. He hates nightmares, and tries to pretend they don't exist.
When he does wake up from a nightmare he will not be able to fall back asleep for a while and would be partly terrified to do so. The terrors at night are difficult for him to manage. When he does have a nightmare it is usually a part of a cluster. This means he'd likely have 3+ in a short time. This can make him very sleep deprived.
Father & Hogwarts
“What do you mean you're going to work at Hogwarts?!”
Having his father at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is both a blessing and a curse to the young Kastian. His father started with the start of his fifth year. He likes his freedom from his father and it can be bothersome with him being on the school grounds because he can easily stay on top of his school work and have him dragged out of class or even stop him after hours to give him a lecture if he had acted out and got himself in some trouble.
The largest dislike he has of his father being at the school is that he is too close. He had gotten used to Hogwarts over the past three years he has been there and liked the isolation and constant break. But, he loved his father at the same time and was glad that his father was close to him for when he needed a dad. “What do you mean you're going to work at Hogwarts?!” His first words to his father were a bit harsh when he found out, but, he was fine with it, and warmed up to the idea.
strengths ;
Creativity & Cleverness
Applies creativity to his daily life to make his life more fun.
He is a very creative person when it comes to his actions. Whether it is schoolwork, having fun, writing, or simply being random he is creative through all of his actions. In his classes, such as Herbology or Potions he would use charms he had learned in unique and clever combinations to finish his work better or manipulate the objects to come closer to his liking. His creativity allows some of his work to be done in an efficient way according to him. At other times it may not be efficient, but, it gains the same result and gives him a little fun which would allow him to complete his work.
He enjoys taking a break to read and write. This sparks his creativity even more. He applies creativity to his daily life just to make it more fun to him personally. He would even do the same if he has to work in a group, or, at least try to.
Friendship & Loyalty
He will sacrifice his integrity to help a friend or family member in need.
Loyalty is one of the strongest suits of the young Winokur teenager. He learned from an early age to trust others and be loyal and kind. It was drilled into his head from a young age by his parents and it became a monumental part of his personality because of his great influences and growing up around members of the Order of the Phoenix.
He allows his own interests to take second place when he is needed. He may have an attitude at times and desire for a certain motive, but, if a friend or family member needs him to listen he will even if he doesn't act like it. If the friend or family member needs him and he will try his best to make them his top priority. He is willing to sacrifice his free time, and integrity to help a friend or family member in need. His strongest loyalties lie with his family over his friends. If something ever happens to his father, he will refuse to leave his father's side no matter what.
He is not the type to go to a friend when their ranting annoys him and simply say, “I don't care.” If it is annoying him, he will continue to listen until he has to go to his next class or another engagement. If he feels a friend really needs him, he will stay and possibly ditch his next class landing him in detention. It is a risk he is willing to take.
Secret Keeper & Trustworthy
“I promise...”
Trust is a very slow thing to build. He does lie at times, but is not a good liar which helps his trustworthiness. When he makes a promise and actually uses the words “I promise...” His word choices and responses helps him build his credibility when asked a question. Instead of saying something simple like “It was okay.” He'd be more detailed with a response something like: “It was okay. But, I really did not like the dancing rabbit at the end. Would've been more epic as a squirrel.”
When a friend confides in him he does hold onto their secrets. He is pretty good at knowing if something is a secret or not. If he feels a friend is in trouble he will be put into a double-zone where he is crossed between his friendship or his loyalties. He would eventually tell someone whom could help if a friend is in danger of hurting him/herself or another.
Bravery & Heart
Shy and brave teenager that likes to have fun.
Kastian has a lionheart. He is determined and brave and he is proud of it. He has a heart that goes out to people whom are the victims and he hopes one day he could fill the shoes of great men before him and be some type of protector or healer. When a friend is in jeopardy he doesn't think his actions through, he just acts in defense of his friend.
Kastian is a helpful and very sweet person. It does seem he has some type of unwritten code of honor when dealing with people, which he keeps consistent too. His bravery is strongly guided by his morals. He has excellent morals that he grew up with and his bravery became about as a result of habit. He never tried to be brave, but, he just naturally was. He is a shy and brave teenager that likes to have fun. That is all there is to him, really.
He is honest, well mannered, and generally pleasant company in public. He will have his teenage qualities and hormones, but, he does try his best to stay on good behavior and remain a good kid and not become an evil person. If, and when, he ever goes on a date he will go far and beyond to help his date have one of the best experiences. He'll open doors, pull out the chairs and wait patiently for his date. It is one of the few times he will ever wait patiently for a person. He does treat all women better then he treats his guy friends in his group. So, the ladies can expect good treatment from him.
weaknesses ;
Shy & Stage Fright
Shyness is considered a timid level.
Kastian is very shy. He is somewhat afraid of new experiences. But, he does look forward to new opportunities to socialize. He doesn't jump into a conversation easily, unless he is prompted. He hesitates around strangers sometimes and is nervous and bashful around people he doesn't know. It may seem he is insecure. His shyness is considered a timid level, as it doesn't effect his social life as much as it does for others whom are shy. Over time and by constant work on the issue he had became less shy.
When he is in a comfortable area that he is used to, such as the greenhouses at Hogwarts, the grounds, or stores he frequents, he is more of himself then a shy teenager. Being with friends helps him control his shyness. By being with friends, family, or in a familiar area he is completely fine and his full self without being shy.
Kastian has a hard time trying to speak in front of large crowds. He has always been afraid of speaking in front of large numbers of people. In the first while he was at Hogwarts he had trouble speaking in front of his class. Over the years he had been doing better at speaking in front of his class, but, he still is very nervous and gets sweaty when he has to give an oral report.
Lying & Hiding
“Yes. I cleaned my room just now.”
Ever since Kastian Winokur was a child telling his first lie it had become easily apparent that he cannot lie. He had tried as he grew older, and now, into his teenage years he still cannot lie. He still tries to lie at times, usually toward his father. If he does not withdraw his lie people that know him would likely know he is lying because he isn't very good at coming up with a lie. He gets nervous and would find himself contradicting himself.
He has a hard time hiding details. He can tell a lie when someone's safety is in jeopardy, or keep a secret and lie about knowing it. But, when the lie is something big such as if he cleaned his room, it becomes a different story. An example of such a lie: “Yes. I cleaned my room just now.” This lie would be contradicted easily, because he would likely just walk inside from being outside or was in the kitchen getting something to eat.
Underestimates himself & Failure to set bar
Sets his goals too low.
Kastian underestimates himself constantly. His underestimation usually would come toward his knowledge or skill. He could be doing much better in some of his weakest subjects if he would set the bar higher. He is not very good at setting up big goals to himself, at least academically. He always thinks he is doing worse then he actually is, and hence, would set the bar at an awkward level. Sometimes it is enough and sometimes it is not enough. This bar needs to be set by someone he trust, and is usually set by Greyson.
He had learned to set the bar himself over time, but, he still needs help getting it adjusted. Underestimating himself is not a big issue as it once was. As he goes further into his teenage years he is becoming more aware of his skills, passions, and the knowledge of how to use them. By having a set bar, it helps his goals be at a more reasonable rate and of things he can make.
Clumsy & Tracking
“Accio!”
There is a reason why most of Kastian's most prized possessions are in plain sight of view or are kept organized and in the same place. Kastian had been very bad at keeping track of his things at a young age and would tear apart his room trying to find something he had left in the hallway or in the living room. After a while and with help from his parents he had learned to keep better track of things, but, he still has a hard time and would spend a few minutes trying to find something before finally needing to cast a summoning spell. “Accio hat!”
He has been clumsy most of his life. He does not run into things, or is not as bad as Greyson at dropping or losing things. But, he does find himself dropping things constantly. It is a reason why he commonly wears a backpack over a bookbag that can easily slip off and be lost and left behind. A backpack feeling had become much easier for him to recognize and easy to remember. He is still prone to dropping things.
boggart ; The biggest fear Kastian currently has is seeing Greyson die. He had lost all of his family before he was adopted, he cannot handle the last of his family dying.
amortentia ; At first it would be a burst of fresh cool air, with a strong smell of coffee. There would be hints of magical plants as well.
erised ; Kastian is full aware that the past cannot be changed, so, his deepest desire would simply be making his family proud. He'd want his father, Greyson to be proud of him.
veritaserum ; When he was thirteen years old, before his third year of Hogwarts had begun Kastian was snooping around his grandfather, Donald Winokur's room. In his room he had discovered his grandfather's collection of dirrty magazines. He knows he did wrong by snooping, but his curiosity got the better of him. He opened one of the magazines up and found that he had gotten his first conscious erection and felt a rush of adrenaline and hormones. He rolled up one of the magazines and left the closet, and stuck the magazine in the book he was reading to take home with him. He still feels guilty to the present day for snooping around and stealing something of his grandfather's.
dementor ; His worst memory is being taken to his home by Greyson. He saw the house burned to the ground, the floors where his parents were murdered. He smelled the strong stench of the flames death. It is something he does not want to revisit.
patronus ; The happiest memory Kastian has is Greyson meeting him on the platform before his first school year and telling him that he was his new father. The confirmation of his adoption was the best moment in his life. His patronus would be an owl in flight.
personality ;
Kastian Winokur was a happy child, and had great connections. He loved his family, and considered his mentor, Greyson, as family from an early age. His parents were brutally murdered when he was eleven years old and it left him an orphan. He had no biological family left and Greyson Winokur stepped in and adopted him right before his first school year had begun at Hogwarts. During his first winter break where he returned home, to his new home with Greyson, he found himself welcomed by the entire family. By feeling completely apart of Greyson's family Kastian had asked if he could change his last name.
He had always had a strong loyalty to his family, friends, and his beliefs. When he changed his name he was full aware that he was not giving up on who he is, and his family, as the Everett's. The change of the name was his sign of showing he is ready to move on and is willing to make that step. He knows he is an Everett, and belongs to the Everett family, but, he was the last of them. By changing his name to Winokur he had personally shown that his loyalties now lied with Greyson and his family. He will defend his family, friends, and beliefs.
Once Kastian is a friend of someone, he is always a friend. It doesn't matter if a friend betrayed him, he will be there for them when they need them. He is a great listener and will take the time out of his day to listen to a friend. Others may simply say they don't care, Kastian would ignore them and sit there and listen to them until they are done. If he had a prior engagement or needed to get to a class he would dodge it if he felt listening to his friend was important enough to miss his engagement. If it was just a general chat about something he would break it off and catch up with them later. He is easy to talk to, and is very sociable if someone is willing to talk to him. He's talkative.
With his friends he shows great chivalry. He will go out of his way to help his friends. He shows wisdom in his choices. Holds doors open for strangers. He is courteous and generous. When he is taken to Hogsmeade over winter or summer break and someone is short a few sickles, he'd be willing to release a few from his hands provided he has it. He gives his time out, and would volunteer to tutor someone in Herbology, Potions, or Charms if so requested.
At a young age Kastian had lost some family members and he learned to deal with death quickly. His parents had reassured him that death was okay and helped him distract himself so he wouldn't get too attached or drawn to the death. At a young age he had learned the past was in the past and that he needed to look forward to the future.
He is a very sweet and helpful boy. He is a very sociable person, even though he is shy. He is a lot more comfortable in places of familiarity, but he is no stranger to change. He can accept new things and change. Without realizing it, Kastian is courageous and outgoing for something he believes in. He will defend his stance even if it will cost him his integrity. He will defend his friends even if it will cost him his integrity. He is willing to risk his entire reputation for his loyalties and beliefs. He has a healthy self-esteem but can sometimes have low self-confidence. When he is with his friends and or is in a familiar place, when there is any familiarity present he can be found smiling a lot.
When someone needs help he'd try to be there for them. If a person drops a grocery bag or papers with full arms and Kastian is around, he'd go help them pick up the mess. He would then offer to carry the items over a short distance, to their next class, or door. He is good at keeping his promises, and tries his best to do so. He agreed with his father to do his chores over the winter break and summer break, and he makes sure he gets them out of the way. Mostly because Greyson bribes him, but, he knows he wants to help out, and keep his integrity.
Kastian Winokur is very creative and clever. He is constantly looking for new ways of solving things or making his day more fun. He would push off his schoolwork to have fun. But, in his fifth year it would become more of a challenge pushing away his schoolwork as his father would be closer to him to keep on top of his grades.
He was once a follower, but, as he grew up, he became more outgoing he is starting to take a role of quiet leadership. He doesn't like to start conflicts with others and would rather to stay out of them. When in trouble with a bully, he tries to sort it out before it goes down to violence. He still listens to the advice of others and does not take anything that is told to him lightly. He thinks through his actions often times. But, he listens to his heart more then anything. Kastian shows great wisdom in his thoughts and actions.
He loves Greyson more then anything in the world. Greyson is the last person he has left. He loves his owl, Rusty, as well, as Rusty is the only thing he has that was his parents. Everything else he had ever owned or his parents were lost in the fire when the house burned down, Rusty managed to escape and come to Greyson's home. He does miss his parents, and he still loves his parents, but, he understands their death and knows that they died to protect him, and their beliefs.
After his parents death he had bad nightmares for a while, and occasionally still does. He would find himself waking up in a cold sweat in early hours of the morning after having a nightmare. The nightmares were always of the same thing, his parents, and some type of fire. He sees them in several different scenarios. Often times he does see himself losing Greyson. He is more terrified of losing his current father, Greyson, then anything else in the world. Greyson is the only person he has left. Kastian will do anything in his power to protect his father and his friends.
There are only a few incidents where he ever dwells on the past. He mostly will feel guilt, or, try to remember his parents. He hates dwelling on the past and will force himself to start doing something to distract him. The only time he generally dwells on the past is around the anniversary of his parent's death. Greyson had learned this and tries to provide enough distractions for him. Anything he does on his parent's anniversary he would bring Rusty the owl with him as it is the last relic of his parents he has.
Along with his courageous attitude, he is very honest. He can be trusted by people to defend a secret and he would risk his integrity to protect the secret if sworn to secrecy. However, if he feels the secret of a friend is the friend in danger or they will harm someone else, he will risk his friendship and report it to an adult whom can help. He doesn't seek to betray his friends, but his moralities will tell him to protect them at all costs. He does not stand for bullying and does have a hard time standing on the sidelines if a good friend does get bullied.
He shows courage in times of danger. He has lost so much to the Death Eaters, and he does not want to lose anything else to them. He would defend his fellow friends, family, and innocents. He is planning on joining the Kipler Knights as soon as his father gives him permission to do so. Even if his heart tells him to do something, he still likes approval from his father on major changes or issues. He is not ready to completely sever the attachment or connection to Greyson yet.
Even with his nightmares, he is brave. He may be a shy person, but the shy part of his personality is only timid and can be overridden by any other part of his personality easily if it is for something he believes in. His determination and thoughts behind a strong moral code would push him in the defense of a friend if he believes a friend has not done anything wrong. He is willing to except the consequences, provided he knows the full story.
He tries very hard to prove himself to his family and friends. This is his loyalty, and bravery. He does not back down from dares easily, but, he can take insults well and not react on them unless they really bother him.
Kastian Winokur is extremely ticklish and playful. Ever since he was adopted he found himself wrestling with his father, Greyson, or his grandfather, Donald. They would rough house, run around the house, hop on beds, run around tables. Tackling each other is not uncommon or pinning one another on the ground. Kastian loses constantly against Greyson and Donald, but, he enjoys it and has fun. Greyson would generally chase Kastian around the house and knock him down to the ground just to tickle him. Kastian is extremely ticklish.
The teenager can get snarky when talking back to someone. Mostly, he stays respectful, and only gets snarky toward a friend or family in a joking manner. He does talk back or speak with sarcasm at times. His snarkiness and sarcasm is done in a different tone then his normal voice so it is easy to associate differently. It wouldn't be uncommon for him to make smartaleck comment toward someone in certain situations. If someone questions the age of his father and him they would think he is the son of a teenage father: “No shit, sherlock. Yes, I was born when my dad was fifteen, so he had sex with his girlfriend sometime before that. Hahaha. Actually, I was adopted.” If someone called him out as being weird or odd and asked him why he would respond: “I'm a magical science experiment that was born in a pod.” His sarcasm does show that he does have a tough nerve.
Kastian is still discovering himself and has no idea of where he will end up, or what he will end up as.

year ; fifth year in the new term.
pet ; Kastian has an older Spotted Eagle-owl named Rusty. He loves this owl, though, it is becoming slower and toward the end of its life. The owl was his father's when he was in Hogwarts. Kastian will likely be getting a new owl within a short while as Rusty's life comes to an end. This owl is older then Kastian and is going blind, and finds himself moving slowly and getting confused. Lost mail is common for Kastian. His father got Rusty in 1986 when he started Hogwarts, making Rusty at least 23 years old. His species lives on average to 20.
favourite subject ; Herbology is his favorite subject by far.
worst subject ; Sadly, it is Transfiguration.
best spell ; Glacius, he learned this as soon as he was able to. He had asked an older year in his house to help him master it after seeing it for the first time. He learned that this spell could combat fires and help him walk across water and became extremely determined to learn this charm.
worst spell ; The spell of which he has the most trouble in is avifors, the spell that transfigures objects into a flock of birds. Even though it is learned early on, he always struggled with it.

Notes: Kastian is a natural at Charms, and amazing at Herbology, and great at Potions. He's better and tests better at Herbology then his natural skill, Charms. His Potions are on par with his Charms. His father, Greyson is the reason why he is good at Herbology & Potions, Kastian tries to copy him to be a healer like him. This is why Kastian is good at healing magic. His actions and instincts to healing are taught and drilled into his head by himself.

The Beginning
“Welcome to the world Kastian Blaine Everett.”
Long ago back in the golden days of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a man in the house of Hufflepuff by the name of Ivan Everett was best friends with a badger lass from the very same house; her name was Angelina Kohl. They both were in the same year, and were attachable since their very first day at the school. They had rode the boats together, and became greater friends then either of them have imagined. They had begun school back in 1986 and had the time of their lives being great friends until one evening, everything changed, a week before winter break begun in 1990.
Out of nowhere, Angelina had kissed Ivan and spoke some words, “I like you.” Simple words, though, so cheesy. These words led to a relationship between the two for the rest of their sixth year. Angelina and Ivan were no longer just friends with one another, they were an item, a couple. When there was a dance, Angelina dragged Ivan to them. She dragged Ivan to nearly anything, and he smiled and obeyed her. He loved her and had a crush on her for the longest time, but, he was far too shy to even make a move. Luckily, Angelina had done it, so she was not lost forever to him. Angelina had dated someone before, but, Ivan, never had.
Angelina was great for Ivan. It made him more outgoing, more confident with himself, and more willing to support deeds. It made him a better male, and a better boyfriend. He tried to go far and beyond for his girlfriend. Though, she beat him to the punch and proposed to him a few weeks after they had graduated from Hogwarts in the year of 1992. Ivan did not like that the punch line was taken from him. He, in fact, already had a ring planned and was having it made by a jeweler. The ring Ivan had ordered was not yet ready. He told Angelina his answer, yes, and told her about her ring. She laughed, “I cannot wait to see it Ivan!” A kiss followed soon after.
Their family was overjoyed. Ivan's father, Blaine Everett, was getting gravely ill and the date of the wedding was sped up to make sure he would see it. It was tough trying to put together a wedding so quickly, but, Blaine spared no expense to pay for his son's wedding. Their parents had argued over the costs, and whom was to pay. Ivan and Angelina laughed at each other as their parents bickered over trying to figure everything out. The wedding was marvelous, and happened in the heart of London. They had planned for a honeymoon to the America's and planned to be back before the 1994 Quidditch World Cup. However, their plans were altered because Angelina became pregnant and the couldn't travel anymore with an infant. These plans were cut off when Blaine passed away the day after their wedding. The wedding was escalated for Blaine could make it, and he was saddened he died days before his first grandchild was to be born.
On the early morning of January 25, 1994 a woman by the name of Angelina Mary Everett and her husband, Ivan Glenn Everett had their first and only child, a healthy baby boy. It was a cold day and raining day, and was unforgettable for many people whom were out in London on that day. It had been raining for most of the last two weeks of the month. Ivan was the first to hold him, and instantly fell in love with his newborn son. “Welcome to the world Kastian Blaine Everett.” Angelina and Ivan were now two extremely proud parents of a beautiful baby boy.
The parents did not lie to him as he was growing up and wanted to know where babies came from. They had deliberately chosen a doctor with the last name 'Stork'. By having a doctor with the name Stork, they never lied when they told him he was delivered by a Stork. They planned to have this hold out until he was old enough to understand.
Being a Toddler
“Don't get me into trouble again, little one.”
The toddler years seemed to have gone by far too fast for the Everetts. The grandparents were pleased to meet Kastian, and watch him. He was the youngest member of their dying family. He was the last of their lines. On his first birthday, in 1995, the parents had planned a great big day for him. The day was cold, but beautiful and snow was littered across London. They had a big cake, and several presents of both muggle and magical nature. There was not a single happier child in the world then him.
Almost two years of age, in December of 1995, Kastian had spoke his first word. He called out for his father by simply using the word “Dada.” It overjoyed his family to hear him speak his first consistent first word. It was not very long until he gained a wealth of vocabulary and was able to speak and walk very well. His family spoiled him on his second birthday, as they have done on his first. Things were heating up in the magical world. Fear was striking the citizens. They've had heard of the Death Eater attack on the World Cup, and, they were glad that had missed it in 1994. Attacks and recruitment seemed to have increased.
In 1996, a close friend of the Everett's was killed in a Death Eater attack. They had decided they needed to protect their child from the dangers of their world. They both had joined the Order of the Phoenix in hopes they can push down the war, and create a safe home, a safe world for their just two year old wobbly son. Kastian was able to walk, but, fell constantly. It did not stop his determination from trying. He spent a greater amount of time with his grandparents, as his parents went on to become outspoken members of the war.
Around three years of age, in 1997, Kastian had become a little trouble maker. When his father was left alone with him while his mother was out at work or doing business for the Order of the Phoenix, Kastian would run his father down. He would wear his father down and go with him to take a nap. After his father was well asleep, Kastian would wake up and sneak off to tear up the house. One day he'd be in the kitchen making a mess with the pots. Another day he'd knock down a plant and spread the dirt all over the house. Another day he managed to knock over a trash can and a laundry basket. Kastian always returned back to his father's side before he woke up, which was usually when his mother finally came home.
Kastian was not a child that liked to take naps, but, it was quickly noticed by his parents so they had to find a playpen to keep him in when he wore them down. He was a very active toddler, and was not shy about getting into anything. He made a mess when his parents were sleeping, he got into trouble when they were awake. He was determined on his own path. It was common before Ivan fell asleep he told Kastian the words “Don't get me into trouble again, little one.” Kastian would take clothes out of their rightful place, knock down trash cans, pull down anything he can reach off of the shelves. He had even gone as far as filling all the pots and pans in the kitchen with dirty clothes and his toys. After a while his father begun to use a magical leash to stop him from running off.
In the summer of 1998, four years of age, his grandmother, Alba Kohl passed away in a freak accident involving an escaped Dragon in Diagon Alley. She lived a good life, and, faced the dragon herself trying to be the hero and save her fellow witches and wizards. It devastated his mother and put her into a spin of depression wondering how the hell a dragon could escape. She wanted to be left alone, so Kastian and Ivan simply hit the sights of London to give her time alone. After a few months Angelina got over her depression and paid more attention to her son and husband. She had begun to tell Kastian stories of his grandmother, of how she was a great hero that saved lives.
The Childhood Years
“KASTIAN BLAINE EVERETT! DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH THAT!”
It was a great sigh of relief with Kastian begun to listen to his parents as a child. They could take him places, and letting him earn trust. By the time he was six years old in 2000, he had stopped tearing apart his parents apartment. He was no longer a messy child, and wanting to go on adventures all the time. He begun copying his father and showing more of his father's earlier personality from when he was a minor himself. His father, Ivan, had once been a very quiet and shy man. But, now, Ivan was an outspoken member of the Order of the Phoenix and rising member. But, he was a father first.
In that year his grandfather, Buster Kohl passed away from a backfired spell when out hunting outside of Hogsmeade. It was tough for them to deal with, but, it surprised them he had gone so long with hunting dangerous and wanted game that there were rewards for. The year was pretty much uneventful for them as issues took up so much time for them. He was no longer a difficult child and became a spitting image of his parents personality and curiosity.
In 2001 an attack was made on Ivan's life by a Death Eater that refused to believe the war was over. They had missed Ivan and hit his sister and was knocked-out in the spell cast by Angelina. Within moments their house was swarming with fellow Order of the Phoenix members, and Martha Everett, Ivan's sister, had passed. This was the seven year old Kastian's only aunt. She was engaged to be married to a Steven Tyler, whom would become his first uncle. Steven took off after the death of Martha and very rarely ever showed up again, he lost the love of his life.
2001 was a heightened year for the Everett family. They had become more deeply involved in the Order of the Phoenix in rounding up the loose ends from the war and trying to get a hold onto a new life, without fear. By becoming deeply involved in the Order of the Phoenix the Everett's had decided they needed to get Kastian out of the house more instead of being stuck with his grandmother, Marissa Everett. They had signed him up for a magical version of Big Brother Big Sister by the name of Auntie Matilda's Youth Connections. Kastian was assigned to a Greyson Winokur.
It was one of the best choices they have made for Kastian. He instantly got along with Greyson and the two begun to 'hang out' more and more. Kastian became attached to Greyson and invited him over to dinner constantly. Eventually Greyson ended up watching him when his parents had to go out, or, just to give his parents a break from him. The two got along, and seen things that Kastian would have never gotten to see with busy parents. His parents were so determined on making the world a better place for him, they kept him sheltered from the world.
With Greyson, Kastian was taken to zoos, magical performances, anything that an average child would have experienced by that age. He saw much more in a period of time then he did with his parents. Greyson became someone that he quickly trusted and stopped questioning the motives or actions of. Children are great judges of character as they're nosy and they figure things out. He couldn't find a flaw in Greyson.
He was a stubborn child and was extremely picky about his food or what he was eating or doing. He was somewhat afraid of change and new things. Greyson had worked on this and got him to expand his horizons more by having him try out new types of candy, foods, or trying things he always thought he wouldn't like or be afraid of. Greyson had made him a better person and the two were good for each other.
Eight years old in the March 2002 Kastian got separated from his parents in Diagon Alley when the crowd was rushing to a opening store for a great sale on cauldrons. He couldn't find his parents as much as he tried. He had wandered around Diagon Alley for over an hour shouting out, calling for his parents “Mom? Dad? Where are you?”.
Kastian had found himself by a darker place in Diagon Alley, near the entrance of Knockturn Alley. A witch grabbed his hand and pulled him away. She asked what he was doing there. He couldn't answer and she figured he was lost. He was only eight, so, he was a confused child. He had never been to that part of Diagon Alley before and his curiosity was striking him of what was back there. The witch dragged him away to the front of the alley and handed him over to a wizard guard in the area. Within moments the wizard guard had found his parents and he was returned to their safety.
In the same year he was given a muggle gaming system, a PSP. He fell in love with the games and got through them quickly. His parents quickly bought him other systems, but, realized that Kastian preferred the hand held games over everything else. He continues his interest in muggle hand held games and ask for them for the holidays. He loves it when he would get a new game and would get lost in them, setting aside most other things. In the modern day, he takes one of the hand held games to Hogwarts with him. He uses it in Hogsmeade or on the train rides.
In 2003, when Kastian was nine, his grandmother had passed away from a bad case of Dragon Pox. She was stubborn and refused to go to St. Mungo's to get treated and complained that she could get over it. Eventually Ivan dragged her off to the hospital, but, it was too late. She had used charms to cover up parts of her skin and her pox was more developed then it had appeared.
For each year there was a birthday, the eighth, ninth and tenth Kastian had begged Greyson to come along. He had never been so happy to have someone at his birthday party as he was with Greyson. Most of the kids at the parties were local wizard children or neighbors, family friends, or Order of the Phoenix members awaiting to pull his parents away.
There were constant trips to the sweetshop, Honeydukes, in Hogsmeade over the years. It had become Kastian's favorite store as he was literally a kid in a candy shop. He loved candy and devoured it quickly. By eating his candy supply so fast, his parents had to place it out of his reach so he couldn't eat it all in one sitting and get sick off of it. They had learned he could be bribed by candy to do odd things around the house if needed.
Sometimes Ivan and Angelina had to leave London. Kastian stayed behind at Greyson's home. He had gotten used to Greyson's family by spending so much time with him. His parents couldn't have asked for a better mentor. If they had enough time to put together a will, Greyson's name would've appeared as a guardian for Kastian. It was a miracle to his parents that he got along with someone else, and would obey and listen. He was a stubborn child, and very picky in his dealings. Greyson was one of the few to overlook his stubbornness and find his real self.
One night out in London in the month of September his parents Angelina and Ivan had invited Greyson out to an evening in London. They walked along the river, looking at the fine shops, and restaurants. As they were approaching the muggle restaurant they had reservations at a cyclist sped by and bumped into them, knocking Ivan and Kastian to the ground. Kastian continued to roll from the impact and fell off the side, under the railing and into the river. Kastian had never been a great swimmer as a child. He never really had the chance to go swimming. Greyson, Angelina, and Ivan all knew this.
The boy was frightened and had no idea what to do. Ivan was just getting up, Angelina begun screaming. Greyson was the first one to react. He jumped over the railing and into the river water and grabbed Kastian and pulled him ashore. Making sure nobody was watching he used his wand to dry the water off of him quickly. Being dried did not stop the boy from shaking. They continued to the restaurant after Greyson had saved him. Ivan and Angelina were quite grateful for it. “I'd like to teach him how to swim, if I may.” Greyson asked at the restaurant. The parents quickly approved of the skill and had regretted never teaching him to do so.
At the restaurant Kastian made all of his family laugh when he was eating chips/french fries. He poured a wealth of ketchup onto his plate and stuffed the fries into his mouth at quick rate drenched in ketchup. They laughed at the way he ate his fries and asked him if he liked fries. Kastian responded, “I like my ketchup shovels.” To the present day he still calls fries 'edible ketchup shovels'.
The Robbing of Childhood
“Mom! Dad! Let me go Greyson. It's not true. IT IS NOT. Mom! Greyson, let me go!”
On the night of August 11, 2005 Greyson Winokur had taken the young Kastian Everett to Hogsmeade to explore the streets of the magical village. Kastian loved it there. “Greyson, do you think my magic will show up soon?” He had asked this question constantly to his mentor, wondering why his magic was not blooming yet. There was little doubt he would become a wizard, and they were confident of it. Greyson was so confident that he had already bought him a trunk with his name engraved on it for his first school year of Hogwarts.
It was his parents first break they had for a week. They were so very grateful for Greyson taking Kastian away for the evening so they could have it alone. They had paid for most of what Greyson had done with Kastian, and often times tried to overpay but Greyson constantly refused the payments. On the very evening of August 11, 2005 their home was invaded by a small group of Death Eaters. His parents gave up a great fight, but, they refused to kill anyone or use an unspeakable curse. They both perished that day, and their house was ripped apart in flame. A local witch on the street had summoned some Order members to the location.
His parents did not go down easily, they had attacked harsh and knocked two of the Death Eaters out. One of the Death Eaters was carried away by the others in their escape. And one was left behind. The left behind Death Eater was sent to Azkaban for the murder of Angelina and Ivan Greyson. The very witch that was their neighbor that called the Order to the house had apparated away to Greyson's home to talk to him. She broke the news to Greyson and left.
Greyson did not take the news very well and wondered how to break it to the young Kastian. A few members of the Order of the Phoenix stopped by to offer their sympathies, but Greyson did not let them talk to Kastian. Greyson wanted to be the one to break the news to the new found orphan. Kastian was fast asleep by the time the news was breaking throughout the magical world. Greyson couldn't fall asleep. His mind was heavy and was running through scenarios of how to break the news to Kastian. Nobody was going to question Kastian staying with Greyson for a few days, and, he felt it was better. Greyson was the only one left that Kastian trusted. He had already lost so much in his life, now, he lost his greatest connection.
When the eleven year old woke up in the morning and walked out to the kitchen, tired, and looking for food. Greyson gave him something to eat and just sat at the table watching him eat. Kastian was quiet in the mornings, and was a shy child. He didn't have very many friends, and Greyson was his closet friend. He loved Greyson almost as much as his parents. After Kastian finished eating, Greyson stopped him and knelt to the ground to speak to him. “Kastian... I have something to tell you.” Greyson stumbled on his words, but he did not hold back and was strong for the eleven year old child. “Last night there was an incident at your house. Your parents are...”
Kastian blinked rapidly, trying to process the words. He had experienced death before of a family member, but, his parents was a new level of experience of loss for him. “Greyson... tell me. What happened?” Kastian muttered, and was lost in his thoughts. He demanded an explanation from Greyson.
Greyson had explained to him what had happened. “There was an attack on your parents. A group invaded your home and took them down. We'll be going later to clear some stuff up, buddy. But, for now, it's best we keep low and stay indoors for a few days.” Greyson wanted Kastian to be safe, and, knew it would be hard on both of them to visit his old home, and go by the hospital and the Ministry of Magic.
“No. You're lying. Let's go home now. Let's go now. You're lying Greyson.” Kastian took off to run past Greyson and out the door onto the streets. Greyson grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him into a hug. Tears begun to run down Kastian's face. He knew that the man wouldn't lie to him, but, he simply refused to believe it. “Mom! Dad! Let me go Greyson. It's not true. IT IS NOT. Mom! Greyson, let me go!” Kastian begun yelling, and fighting Greyson to let him go.
Greyson did not give up in his struggle against Kastain and held him tightly. Kastain begun to beat on his shoulder and swing his arms around hitting Greyson in the back trying to get away from him. Within a moment Kastian found himself free and Greyson flying across the room and landing on the ground. Kastian was distraught and ran to Greyson, wanting to see if he was okay. Greyson looked up and gave a soft smile, “Look at that bud, you just did some magic.”
Kastian calmed down and went on with the day behaving and listening to Greyson. He was sad, but, excited. It had been a very bittersweet day for him. Normally, the day he discovered magic would be a great day of joy, but, it was not for him. Greyson had to go to a dinner with his family, and he took Kastian along. It was an awkwardly quiet dinner, but, was fun. Kastian got along with Greyson's family well. During the dinner meal, a letter arrived from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with a list of items he would need for the school year. The day ended on a great note for him, and the child did not focus on his parents and looked forward to his future.
He had spent almost an equal amount of time with Greyson as he did with his parents over the past few years. His parents were killed for being outspoken members of the Order of the Phoenix. They were busy in trying to protect their son, and they cost their son his greatest gift, themselves.
The First Year
“Dad... I want to change my name to yours.”
He was taken from Greyson's arms within a week. He was stuck with a foster family with kids he did not get along so well. It was tough for the young Kastian. Only eleven years old, and he was without parents. He had lost all of his family with their deaths, most, due to noble causes. Kastian was saddened when his aunt died. When his grandparents had passed away, but, his parents were a completely new level. He moped around and kept to himself. He found himself screaming and kicking random objects around the house of his foster/host family. His host family had a tough time with dealing with Kastian as he did not make it easy.
Kastian fought them, argued with their kids. He simply did not get along with them. The host family's adults understood why he was acting out and kicking random objects, screaming. They normally let him be. A few times they had to grab him and hold him down. Within a few days they had contacted Greyson to get him out of the house because he was a handful. “Heard you were having trouble bud, what's up?”
He behaved around Greyson and listened to him. Greyson was the last person he trusted left on the planet. He was attached to Greyson and did not want to leave his side. It was tough for him to do anything. With Greyson he felt secured, protected, and not abandoned. “Mom and dad abandoned me. I barely even seen them, and now, they're gone. Forever. I have no home. I have nothing anymore.” He spilled his heart out to Greyson, and Greyson simply listened and comforted him. He told Greyson about his brutal nightmares he had constantly since his parents death.
The host family had a child that was starting Hogwarts at the same time Kastian was going. They had made arrangements at Kastian's request to have Greyson meet them in Diagon Alley on the day they were doing their school shopping. A liaison from Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic joined them that day to at least Gringotts to make the final arrangements of his parent's remaining assets.
Gringotts was just a boring and painful ride for him. It brought up too many memories, and he was glad Greyson was there with them. The goblin and the liaison had made the arrangements for his vault and gave the key to the goblin. They were closing his vault. His parents only had enough money saved up for him to start his school year, everything else was gone. They had rented their home, and most of their processions was destroyed. Kastian had nothing left from them. Not even his clothes or toys. Everything was gone. The only thing Kastian had left of his parents was their old owl. His parents vault was closed permanently, and belonged to Gringotts once again.
He had bought his books first, as his foster parents went there first. They later went to go get their cauldrons, and needed supplies as his list told him so. He got everything he needed except for his wand. The wand was the most expensive item on his list, and it was the last item he went to go get. Getting him his wand had slipped the mind of his foster parents for the while as their child already got a wand that was handed down to him. Greyson had mentioned the fact that he needs a wand and volunteered to take him.
It was a relief for Kastian to get away from the host family. He did not get along with their kid and bickered with him constantly. He could have sworn the kid had stolen a few galleons from him. He was holding onto the last of his galleons tightly, as there weren't many left. In Ollivanders Wand Shop he had tried out six different wands before settling onto one that seemed to match his personality well. The wand that he ended up with was a finely crafted rowan wood of ten inches with a fairy wing core. It was very light compared to all of the other wands he had tried or held before. He held it firmly in his left hand until the shopkeeper took the wand from him to pack it in the box he'd take home with it.
“Fairy core,” the shopkeeper explained to them about the wand, first mentioning the core. “Rowan wood. Ten inches. A fine wand it is. Though, at first it may not seem to want to work with you, but, once you figure something out with it, it'll be like riding a broom. You won't forget it. It becomes second nature.” He went on about the wand, explaining that it can be difficult to control but it is well worth it.
Kastian pulled his remaining galleons, sickles, and knuts out of his pant pocket. He dumped the remaining on the counter. There was far less money left needed for the wand purchase. Kastian was counting the galleons, sliding them over to the sales person trying to see if he had enough for his wand. Greyson dropped a handful of his own galleons on the counter. By the time he finished counting, he had only one galleon, five sickles, and fifteen knuts left. He was done with his school shopping, thanks to the spot by Greyson.
A few days after finishing the Diagon Alley shopping spree was the trip to Kings Cross Platform. He had never been to the place before, so finding the strange platform was an adventure for him. He watched as the others crossed into it, and his host family's head stayed behind and told him what to do with his cart. Kastian nodded and done so, closing his eyes and hoping he doesn't run into the wall. He made it through the wall to the magical platform. They were late that day, and had to rush to get onto the train. On the platform a familiar face was waiting, Greyson Winokur.
Kastian let go of his cart and ran straight to Greyson to give him a hug and ask him about being on the platform. “Greyson! I missed you. What are you doing here? I thought you were busy today and the last few days with work stuff.” Kastian was genuinely curious about what Greyson was doing there, and was willing to miss the train to figure it out.
“Well, I had to do some paperwork these last few days. You know these agencies seem to have a lot of questions and stuff. But, it was will worth it.” Greyson spoke to him directly, his host family within earshot. They knew what Greyson was about to say. “You are going to need a real home when you come back. You need a new home.” Greyson held a large grin, and Kastian was confused and trying to figure out what he was saying. “It's with me. I'm your new dad.” Kastian grabbed onto Greyson and did not let go until the last moment he had to get onto the train. His host family had already loaded up his stuff. He was now looking forward to coming home, to be home with Greyson.
Hogwarts was an adventure. Sorting was fun, and was a shock to him. He had not really expected anything and heard some rumors from the older kids. The tour of the castle left him even more confused and gave him an urge to want to explore the castle and get lost to figure it out. A half a moment after touching his head the hat had shouted the name of his house out, UNKNOWN! He was sorted into a great house and was relieved he was with people he could get along with. He was a creative, brave, and shy kid and was curious and loyal to his allegiances.
He quickly adjusted to the castle, and his curiosity did get the better of him. He had learned a few shortcuts around the castle by mainly taking random paths and remembering them. Eventually he had figured out he was not very good with Transfiguration but was decent at other classes and the best at Charms. He tried every class, but, he had quickly begun to favor others. The food was great to him, new people to meet. It was a tough adjustment for him as it was unfamiliar, but, he was excited for it.
He was calmer in Hogwarts then he was with his host family. His nightmares slowly vanished over the months. He got along with his classmates and enjoyed his classes. His parents lingered in his mind, but, he tried his best to push past it. He had thought about it constantly, but, he had gotten over it once he realized it was the past and couldn't change. Greyson had gave him a new home, and winter break was nearing. He looked forward to his new home and being with Greyson.
His first year he showed a greater interest in creativity. He had always been a creative child trying out different things or arranging his toys in ways others would not think about. He begun to write random stories on paper. Started message role playing on margins of books in the Hogwarts library or passed parchment that floated around the school. He had enjoyed them. He even went as far as carving letters out on a fallen tree branch, and used a verity of charms to make it outstanding. His creativity was getting the better of him, and he was enjoying it.
Winter break had arrived and Greyson had sent him an owl weeks previous arranging for him to come home to his home. Kastian was excited for this event and was counting down the hours and struggled to fall asleep with the excitement. The winter break was fun for him, and, it became the first he had spent with his new family and Greyson. He loved it there, and loved the holiday and the time spent with him. Greyson did not approach the topic of his parents, and, was careful to avoid it to stop an emotional trigger.
Kastian went to Greyson a few times to ask about his parents. He was getting older, and some memories seemed to be fading. He hated the fading memories and Greyson was there to help him remember the good times. Greyson led him through the toughest time of his life. “Hey bud, you will never forget your amazing parents. They fought hard to make this a better world for all of us. It's why they they signed you up for the mentor program how we met.” Kastian smiled and gave Greyson a hug. He had thought of it
On Christmas morning, Kastian woke up and got ready for the day. Greyson had took him to another home and Kastian sat on the couch quietly, minding to himself and reading random children books his new grandfather, Doland Winokur had. When they all sat down to eat at the table, a big feast it seemed, Kastian spoke up interrupting his new aunt, Timolin. “Dad... I want to change my name to yours.” He thought about it over the last several weeks, to give up his name, Everett to become the same last name his new legal father was, Winokur. It was the first time he had called Greyson 'dad' out loud in front of others.
“Well... we can make that happen.” Greyson broke the several seconds of silence that erupted across the table with a large grin and some words. Kastian smiled and went back down to his plate. Adjusting to life with Greyson being his new parent was easy for him. The initial shock of his parents death was long gone, and he had moved on and looked forward to the future. He was glad he was with someone he could trust.
In Transfiguration he had continued to struggle into his second term. They had to try and turn a mouse into a snuffbox. His mouse had tried to run from him and was scared. The first few times he had fired off the incantation and mimicking his wand movement and missed. He spoke louder, hoping to make the spell more powerful and hit his transfiguration professor with the spell. It landed him an evening in detention, his first detention at Hogwarts. The mouse had escaped and was never found. He always suspected an owl eventually caught it.
With some help from Greyson, and a bit of disappointment from his first term grades, his second term was improved. His final grades for his first year:
[*] Astronomy ( Term 1: Exceeds Expectations | Term 2: Exceeds Expectations )
[*] Charms ( Term 1: Outstanding | Term 2: Outstanding )
[*] Defence Against the Dark Arts ( Term 1: Acceptable | Term 2: Acceptable )
[*] Herbology ( Term 1: Poor | Term 2: Acceptable )
[*] History of Magic ( Term 1: Acceptable | Term 2: Acceptable )
[*] Potions ( Term 1: Acceptable | Term 2: Acceptable )
[*] Transfiguration ( Term 1: Acceptable | Term 2: Acceptable )
The Second Year
“Professor... why didn't we learn about these awesome plants last year?”
The summer after his first year was exciting for him. Though, in August it became a bit shaky when he visited his parents grave on the anniversary of their death. He had moved on, and finished mourning for his loss. He knew they died for what they believed in. His parents were great parents, as great as Greyson was and vice versa. Greyson had always been like another parent and mentor to him, and, now, it was official. Before the school year had ended the final paperwork came through and his last name was officially changed from Everett to Winokur.
This was the first summer he was able to call Greyson's home, a home. He was now used to it. He was settled into his own room and it had been furnished by Greyson to his tastes. There were a wealth of things he had shown interest in as he was growing up. There was even a roost for his pet owl to rest and leave through the window easily. Even a charm was done to allow the owl to leave through the window without needing it to be open by a human.
He had been explained the house rules as soon as he came home. They were all reasonable and already what he was used to. Greyson made sure he had mentioned the usage of his wand. Kastian agreed not to use his wand, and put it up in his closet. After winter break, Greyson had done some clothes shopping and had a full closet of new casual clothing for the boy. Upon seeing all of the clothes when walking into his room, he was sorting through the drawers and the closet, taking everything out and putting them back in, in a random order. He didn't do this to mess up Greyson's organized way, he just did it to see what he now has. He found himself with a ton of baseball caps. He had lost his only baseball cap that Greyson gave to him on his eighth birthday in the fire of his parents house along with all of his prized possessions.
The summer was an adventure to him. He had sat down with Greyson as he poured over some books. Greyson was a healer, a nurse, someone interested in medicine. This peeked Kastian's interest as well and he constantly peeked over Greyson's shoulder pointing to certain things on the book pages and asking “What's that? That? And that?”
Half of the time instead of answering Greyson would turn around and tackle the young Kastian, knocking him down to the ground tickling him. It sent him into a scream of laughter and attempt to escape. The two would run around the house wearing each other out before eventually returning to the coach and Kastian repeating the process of pointing over Greyson's shoulder asking about certain objects in the book.
Greyson had a good knowledge of Herbology and Potions from his interests. This peeked Kastian's interests and he was constantly taking books that he could understand from the collection in the house to read. A visit to Greyson's father's house, Kastian's new grandfather ended with Kastian taking a thick almanac off his shelves about Herbology. It was far thicker then the books he had used in his first year. He shoved the book into his bag, not telling anyone he grabbed it and left with Greyson to go home.
His father, Greyson had been a coffee drinker. Kastian was interested in the smell he had smelled every morning. He had seen Greyson drink it when he was growing up over the years and he always wondered what it was as his parents did not drink it. He took Greyson's mug one morning and took a sip. He burned his tongue and dropped the mug on the ground in an instant response, shattering the glass. He turned to Greyson and asked, “Why the hell does good smells taste bad?” Greyson couldn't help but to laugh, it was also Kastian's first use of the word 'hell'.
He had poured over the book for the rest of the summer and as the second year started he had greatly improved in Herbology. “Professor... why didn't we learn about these awesome plants last year?” Kastian asked looking at the new plants. Previously they mostly studied things that were boring or simple procedures and simple harmless plants. Now, they were studying the more complicated plants and the ones that had interesting properties that seemed much more magical. He recognized many of the plants at first sight from reading the books about them.
Because of Greyson, he had developed an interest in Herbology, and became better in potions. Herbology moved up to his second strongest class for his second year. Charms remained his strongest. His other grades approved to acceptable levels.
Winter break was fine, and it was fun for him. He got new gifts, new clothes, new robes. He had too many clothes in his closet that it became overflowing. His toys and books he lost were already well replaced. He was getting along with his family. He really felt like a Winokur child. He was loved by his family, and he loved them. The thought of his parents being dead had slipped from his mind. He had a new family. He knew he wouldn't be forced to give up who he was, for who they want him to be. Greyson let him be himself. He got along with himself.
On his birthday he was sent the second volume of the herbology book he had stolen over the summer by his grandfather. His grandfather had figured out he took the book. It was the only time he stole from any of the Winokur's besides Greyson. He had stole from Greyson constantly, mainly food, or his collection of hats. He had taken some of his books, but, he never hid them. He had suspected that Greyson told his father he took the thick Herbology book. It was never a question that he took an interest in what Greyson was doing. Greyson has been his greatest influence in academic pursuits and personality.
When it came to Herbology he had become very creative in the way he dealt with the plants. He would use combinations of charms to cut up the leafs, remove the plants. It had helped him get further and sharply improve his markings in Herbology. His creativity made the class more fun and a class he looked forward to. Herbology quickly became his favorite. It was not a natural skill to him, it was something learned. It had begun to come second nature for him. It was all thanks to Greyson for peeking his interest in the subject. Along with the tricks learned in Herbology it pushed his marks in Potions up more as he understood the components that involved magical herbs.
He had finished the school year with raised grades in all but one subject, Transfiguration. It seemed definite that he would struggle the most with Transfiguration throughout his time at Hogwarts. Herbology was his most improved course. At the end of the year he ended up with a Herbology Lesson Cup. His final grades for the year:
[*] Astronomy ( Term 1: Exceeds Expectations | Term 2: Outstanding )
[*] Charms ( Term 1: Outstanding | Term 2: Outstanding )
[*] Defence Against the Dark Arts ( Term 1: Acceptable | Term 2: Exceeds Expectations )
[*] Herbology ( Term 1: Outstanding | Term 2: Outstanding )
[*] History of Magic ( Term 1: Acceptable | Term 2: Exceeds Expectations )
[*] Potions ( Term 1: Exceeds Expectations | Term 2: Outstanding )
[*] Transfiguration ( Term 1: Acceptable | Term 2: Acceptable )
The Third Year
“You sure this will work? Bubotuber pus sounds disgusting.”
Thirteen. Exciting age. He had turned thirteen midway through his second year. The summer popped more interest. He was a teenager and his father, Greyson had given him more responsibility. There were a new set of rules for him to follow:
[*]Finish all school work before anything else.
[*]Take the garbage out.
[*]Spend an hour each day studying next year's books.
He had previously needed to take care of his pet, the old rusty owl named Rusty. Keep his room clean enough for he could see the floor, and studying a few times a week over the summer. Greyson had explained his new chores were a sign of responsibility and growing up. Kastian didn't argue with Greyson and got his chores done sometime during the day. Though, he did have his lazy days where he didn't want to do anything. He caught up with his chores when his father prodded him the right way or gave him a simple suggestion.
With these new chores, came an allowance for him to have. He would do these over the summer, and help Greyson out when he needed it. By his grade quality and helping around the house, it had determined the amount of money Greyson gave him to spend at Hogsmeade as he would start exploring the village on his own. The first thing Greyson had done for that summer for Kastian was sign his permission slip to Hogsmeade, believing he shouldn't be shafted of the experience.
Kastian questioned Greyson constantly about Hogsmeade. He was wondering what he should do there and how he should get spending money. Greyson had made a deal with him, telling him that his chores over the winter and summer break and he would get an allowance over the school year. Over the holidays he gotten nothing, and Greyson paid for everything. Over the school year he was sent galleons by mail monthly from Greyson with his monthly allowance. Greyson had worked with him over the summer to learn the proper currency exchange and how to manage his money. By the time the school year started he was decent at managing his galleons and was able to buy things he wanted.
However, the school had closed entrance to Hogsmeade for third years and his permission slip became void. His gold just sat in his trunk or book-bag until he could get an older year to purchase something in Hogsmeade for him. The change by the new headmaster had really ruined the thing he looked forward to the most over the summer and last half of his second year. At first it was made to fourth years and above, was raised by one year. This made the young Kastian very frustrated in the new rules. He understood them, but, they had taken away the part he was looking forward to the most. Eventually it was raised to fifth years.
The third year was much like the second year for him. He was a teenager, and he experienced his emotions changing a little and his attitude. He never realized how different he had become with his personality. He had to stop and look back at himself, and then he wondered why he was changing. He ignored everything, and pushed on with his third year. The third year was better for him then the other two. He had found things he was interested in, and realized he had kept his interest.
He had made a few friends, but, mostly, they were mostly in his year or closely around it. He had been getting along with people and mostly stayed out of others' ways. He never had a bully, besides the occasional comment by a Snake (Slytherin) but they seemed to be mostly focused on lashing out at the other houses. The Snakes had left him alone because he shared a name from a pure-blooded family. His house was mainly on the sidelines and he was proud to be a member of the house he was in. He spent much time in the common room, or to himself wandering the halls.
In his third year he had begun to pay more attention to the quidditch team. He begun to cheer on his house team. He was proud of his house and took a greater interest in quidditch. He mentioned this to his father on a Hogsmeade meet-up weekend and asked him to show him how to play once. He never really paid much attention to the sport before. He became more and more interested and used a school broom to play a random game. He became a decent player on an older school broom and wanted his own broom. He had admired up and rising quidditch players such as Aidan Kincaid, Amata Athenias-O'Doyle, and even Akihiko Yuudai. He loved all of the teams, including Slytherin. He found the games interesting and fun.
He had stopped Amata Athenias-O'Doyle once to question her about the game. She stopped and took the time out of her busy day as being the head girl to speak to him. She was captain of the eagles. After Amata he stopped Nicholas Athenias, a seeker, about a few things and for broom tips. He listened to what they said and tried them out within the same day. He had ran into Ariel Miles a few times just to encounter and question about the stats. He found Ariel Miles to be a great source of information and a way to catch up on games he had lost and learn previous highlights.
Winter break was fun for him. He had gotten a new broom and got to play a round of quidditch with his father and the family. He had a lot of fun. He loved being apart of the family and as far as he was concerned, it was his only family. He loved them greatly, and did not question whether or not if he was a Winokur. The Everett part of him was in the past, now, he was a Winokur. He would not forget his past, but, he looked eagerly to his future.
He had begun developing some acne, but, it was quickly cured by his father during a quidditch match in April. He for some reason had a vial of bubotuber pus. “You sure this will work? Bubotuber pus sounds disgusting.” Greyson wiped it on his face and gave him the vial and told him how to use it. Within a week his faint acne had disappeared all together and he no longer needed the pus. He sat through the entire game, being snorted a laugh or two at while wearing the pus on his face. But, he was one that did not argue with his father.
Outside of his acne problems, his creativity continued. He experimented with new charms to make a combination of effects for just pure pleasure. He loved the idea of being creative with spells. He done it a few times to show off to his classmates, but, eventually only done it because it was fun for him. He wanted to make it work, and he tried combinations before getting frustrated with himself before he gave up. Often times he got bored and left to go back to doing something else, or just tried again. He was slightly determined, but, he did get frustrated.
The third year came to a good close with him. New friends. New found love for sports. And his grades held steady and he showed his skill in a few subjects. His grades for the year were:
[*] Astronomy ( Term 1: Exceeds Expectations | Term 2: Outstanding )
[*] Charms ( Term 1: Outstanding | Term 2: Outstanding )
[*] Defence Against the Dark Arts ( Term 1: Acceptable | Term 2: Acceptable )
[*] Herbology ( Term 1: Outstanding | Term 2: Outstanding )
[*] History of Magic ( Term 1: Exceeds Expectations | Term 2: Exceeds Expectations )
[*] Potions ( Term 1: Outstanding | Term 2: Outstanding )
[*] Transfiguration ( Term 1: Acceptable | Term 2: Acceptable )
The Fourth Year
“Well, at least my Herbology stayed stable.”
The end of the third year was fun. The summer break was filled with new expectations for the boy. It was apparent that puberty had officially begun. His voice started to crack in late July. He started growing whiskers in strange places and on his face. Greyson had noticed this and sat him down to talk about puberty. Greyson spared no details, and let the young fifteen year old know everything there was to know about puberty and the changes in a boy's body.
Kastian extended his network and practiced more on the broom to get himself to a better place. He had pushed aside his attitude and shyness more and through his new-found friends and by the point his fourth year had begun, Hogwarts was familiar territory. He was no longer completely afraid of the school. In the beginning his fourth year he was able to travel to Hogsmeade himself, once, before the restriction was moved up to fifth years. He was thankful he got that chance.
He was able to go further and look further upon himself and know what were his interests. He had made his first choice in what to study and chose electives he wanted to look at, or heard rumors that were easy. He was surprised to find out he enjoyed things he never would have before.
Upon his fifteenth birthday he had realized he was an actual teenager, and came to the realization of what teenagedom really is and he has been living up in it. Without noticing his attitude had improved and he was becoming a different and more mature person. However, he held onto his playfulness and the timid shyness. His problems were being worked on still, but, he was a perfectly normal teenager.
His grades had stayed steady for the year. Greyson had decided to work with him over the summer to get him to improve some of his electives and Defence Against the Dark Arts scores. He joked with his father, “Well, at least my Herbology stayed stable.”
[*] Astronomy ( Term 1: Exceeds Expectations | Term 2: Exceeds Expectations )

The Fifth Year
“What do you mean you're going to work at Hogwarts?!”
This section is not yet accurate until after the summer break. Kastian is entering his fifth year.
The end of the fourth year was fun. Fifth year was about to begin. The summer break was filled with new expectations for the boy.
Kastian had spent a lot of time with his family, and told his aunt, Timolin Winokur that he'd miss seeing her around the halls of Hogwarts. Timolin was a Gryffindor girl whom graduated at the end of his fourth term. His uncle Jordan had taken him out to some joke shops, and once bought a huge magical firework that made his father, Greyson, upset over how dangerous it was. Kastian was able to successfully lie about it's whereabouts. Greyson figured it out that it was his uncle that got the device for him. Kastian never got the chance to light it off. He was a bit upset over it, but, after talking with Greyson later that evening he got over it.
Toward the end of the summer, Greyson had announced he would be working at Hogwarts. This shocked Kastian and he responded in a tone usually unheard from him. “What do you mean you're going to work at Hogwarts?!” Hogwarts had become his place of solitude, alone. The most he had to deal with was his aunt Timolin. But, he had kept his distance from her unless he wanted to bother her about something. Their age was a distant regardless. After a few hours of thinking about it, Kastian warmed up to the idea and was glad his father was coming to Hogwarts. He would be glad to have someone he could trust and talk to so close to him.
His father had become the new school nurse. Kastian now had a parent at Hogwarts. He was determined to make his father pleased and spent more time before studying, but, he would not give up on his creative works.
