THE SALEM
Salem Aarons
Salem rolled his head and he heard a crack. He didn't like having to crack his shoulders or his head, but it was apart of his job being stuck on a computer staring at a blazing screen all day. First thing he does after work besides driving? Stares at an even smaller screen. But, Aedan was caught off guard by the fact a patrnous was able to be used to contact people. He didn't know that. "Wait. There's still a use for the patrnous?" he blinked, he thought the Demontors were gone. "I thought the Dementors were gone after their rebellion. It has more purposes?" Salem was curious about it. But, he wouldn't pretend to understand the subject. He did not understand the subject at all. It was confusing. Magic was just plain confusing. The closest thing in magic he could do was probably numerology, he learned some tricks from his sister. But, that's only because of the numbers. He can't feel them, he can only replicate what he seen or was told.
Salem nodded his head understanding the frustration. "My sister comes over sometimes and insists on cleaning my flat. But, what does she have to use? Damn magic. Magic, magic, magic. Not a vacuum, just magic. I guess it makes it easier on me right? That it just gets done in a fraction of the time? But, I was trying to watch the damn game and my tv went off. A fuse blew in it, was a costly replacement, I just ended up buying a new television for fifty pounds extra on sale." Salem spoke back, thinking of his currency. "Oh sorry. I don't understand your currency well. I don't even think I own a knut."
He smirked, remembering Honeydukes the times he had been there. "God, that place. That candy puts ours to a shame. Though, I still can't bring myself to eat a chocolate frog. I keep thinking they're alive. Squirming, dying in my mouth. It's like trying to cook a lobster, all you hear is the screeching, the death cry." he shuddered. He had only tried it once, never again. "I probably should eat less candy," he slapped his belly. "I'm starting to gain a damn number. You know, working for the damn military as a contractor, you'd think they'd exercise you? But, nope. Sit your ass down in a chair and stay connected and watch live feeds."
He chuckled, thinking of the members he may have offended on accident. "It's just. They hold their glasses out in front of them, squint and still have a hard time reading their damn spellbook or letters, I dread to think of them reading off a tiny phone." He found it amusing though, trying to watch the older wizards interact with his laptop when he had to bring it. They may have been reaching two hundred and something, an astonishing number to him. But, they were amazed at the progress of muggle technology, and yet so very, very confused of how muggles recorded so much. Salem nodded his head, "Jeans and a tshirt do fine over some robes that look fit for a Victorian lady... On a damn guy."
He nodded his head in agreement standing up from the couch. "The order put trust in me? I do not know why. But, I was able to find one of your agents spying on me. That was a good laugh was it not? Guy's damn charm faded so I saw his nose. Floating nose following me leaving a military base to Hogsmeade, I dread to think if he were ever on a military base. You know, he would've been shot dead and interrogated. If he spoke, and didn't think of apparating hah, bet the prime minister would have to step in," he found it amusing how the prime minister knew of a world most people didn't. He was quite glad he knew before the prime minister. "It probably really helps my sister is a witch, right? She's magicborne, unlike I. My moms were quite in shock about it. I know us mortals sometimes our siblings are magicborne too, but, not me. I was born to one of my moms, my sister to the other. We're only half I guess?" he mused. He thought his family was normal. His lesbian parents were normal to him. They were still together after over thirty years.
"Feel free to ask any question you would like, and tea sounds fantastic... I never once heard a wizard... A vampire to call myself an equal. Thanks for that. You do not look thirty five, or thirty-six, so the myths... I guess stories of vampires are true afterall?" Salem smirked, Bastian was the first vampire he had met. "New toy? Will it get past the damn security scanners on the base? Or will I need to leave it in my car still" Salem joked. He would get strange stares for having a wand... That could explode or something. He walked into the kitchen.
